Stop by the famous skate park and watch some of the best do their thing, and when you’re done, head down to the beach and get your tan on. There’s plenty of restaurants and bars around if you get hungry or want to grab a drink, but you could be perfectly content with spending the day next to the water. Adjacent to Venice Beach is Santa Monica beach. This is another tourist hotspot, and for good reason. The famous Santa Monica Pier is the highlight of this beach for many, offering food, rides, and entertainment. A fitness lover’s playground (a.k.a. “Muscle Beach”) is right next door, so you can get your daily dose of exercise in if you’d like. Other than the actual beach itself — which is stunning — the Third Street Promenade is just blocks away, perfect to shop and eat at after an afternoon spent in the sun. Santa Monica is known for it’s eclectic characters and beachy vibes; there’s never a dull moment, and always something to look at. La Jolla Beach lies in the heart of San Diego, and is a picturesque cove with a bustling marine life. This makes it incredibly popular for snorkelers, swimmers, and scuba divers. It’s one of So-Cal’s smallest, albeit most photographed, beaches. The waters are crystal clear and allow for perfect visibility underwater, and there’s no shortage of depths to explore. La Jolla is also known for it’s excellent tide pools, if you’re trying to see some sea creatures up close. As it’s located in San Diego, it’s a great place to come for the day, and head into the city for a good meal or cool drink once you’re done.
