The Best Beaches You Need To Go To In So-Cal

Whether you’re from Southern California or are planning a trip there, you might be wondering which beaches are the best to go to. Luckily for you, So-Cal has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Let’s take a look at some of the best beaches you should go to this Summer.

Venice Beach

Venice Beach is a beach that’s truly like no other. Any beach can offer surf, sand and sun; Venice beach takes it a step further with it’s outstanding entertainment and activities. The boardwalk lies right on the beach, with street performers and artists showcasing their talents for the public. Stroll along the boardwalk and take in all Venice has to offer. Stop by the famous skate park and watch some of the best do their thing, and when you’re done, head down to the beach and get your tan on. There’s plenty of restaurants and bars around if you get hungry or want to grab a drink, but you could be perfectly content with spending the day next to the water. There’s never a shortage of things to do at Venice Beach, so make sure you stop by the next time you’re in LA!

Santa Monica Beach

Adjacent to Venice Beach is Santa Monica beach. This is another tourist hotspot, and for good reason. The famous Santa Monica Pier is the highlight of this beach for many, offering food, rides, and entertainment. A fitness lover’s playground (a.k.a. “Muscle Beach”) is right next door, so you can get your daily dose of exercise in if you’d like. Other than the actual beach itself — which is stunning — the Third Street Promenade is just blocks away, perfect to shop and eat at after an afternoon spent in the sun. Santa Monica is known for it’s eclectic characters and beachy vibes; there’s never a dull moment, and always something to look at. Head to this classic LA spot if you find yourself in So-Cal this Summer!

El Matador Beach

If you’re in LA but want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city life, El Matador Beach might be the perfect place for you. Steep steps atop a cliff lead to the beach itself, already setting an aesthetically pleasing landscape. The beach is a great place to explore, with dozens of rock formations jutting out from the sand, as well as caves, nooks, and crannies for you to nestle up in. Bring a picnic and a blanket, and bask in So-Cal sunshine for the day. Stay for the sunset and have your mind blown by Malibu’s natural beauty. This iconic beach will be sure to leave you with a lasting impression, and make you want to come back for more.

La Jolla Beach

La Jolla Beach lies in the heart of San Diego, and is a picturesque cove with a bustling marine life. This makes it incredibly popular for snorkelers, swimmers, and scuba divers. It’s one of So-Cal’s smallest, albeit most photographed, beaches. The waters are crystal clear and allow for perfect visibility underwater, and there’s no shortage of depths to explore. La Jolla is also known for it’s excellent tide pools, if you’re trying to see some sea creatures up close. As it’s located in San Diego, it’s a great place to come for the day, and head into the city for a good meal or cool drink once you’re done. Make the trip down the coast to enjoy this beautiful spot this Summer.
