This park, located off Westpark near 610, is always busy, but it’s easy to see why. The park is huge, so there’s plenty of space for your pup to run around. There are plenty of shaded places to sit while they play, and water stations for when they get thirsty.
Due to Hurricane Harvey, Johnny Steele Dog Park is closed for renovations and is set to open back up in Summer 2018, but this park is just too cool not to mention (Patience is a virtue, people!). The 2-acre dog park has a large and small dog pond, shaded structures, benches, water features, drinking fountains with dog-friendly spigots and a dog washing area. What more could you ask for?
Go to this place, if only for its catchy name. Located in Eado (obviously), Eadog Park is a relatively new dog park. Although not as big as some of the other parks on this list, it features all the essentials, like benches and water fountains. It also features mulch as opposed to grass, which is a smart option with Houston’s temperamental weather. What’s truly great about this park is that it’s a testament to the growth in East Downtown.
