10. Historic 1908 Grayson County Courthouse and Vault Museum
Located at 107 East Main Street Independence, Virginia 24348. You are invited to step back in time to the early 1900’s, the construction of the 1908 Courthouse, and life in Grayson County. Plus the Vault Museum features an exhibit of an early mountain home, barn and blacksmith shop.
Old tools and farm implements are displayed. The Vault Museum is located on the first floor of the 1908 Grayson County Courthouse in what was formerly known as the Clerk’s Vault Room.
9. Grayson County Recreation Park
Located at 85 County Park Lane, Independence, Virginia 24348. Grayson County Park features a great area to have a picnic under the covered picnic shelters, a place to take a nice walk on a paved walking track or the wooded hiking trails. The park also features 5 athletic fields, tennis courts, and an outdoor basketball court. During the summer, the outdoor pool featuring two water slides, two diving boards, and a concession stand is a great place to come and rest in the sun.

Just outside the Grayson County Recreation Park park, resides a beautiful waterfall that you can not only Instagram but also walk in and experience. It is so pretty and there is a little place to eat and relax as well. It is just across the street a bit but it is also part of the park.

You do have to wait for a place to pull over, but there are just a numerous amount of things to capture. Just do not drive too far out of the way or you could end up in North Carolina.

1. E. Main Street
Located at Independence, Virginia 24348, and connects to W. Main Street and will take you through the other main part of the town. Here you have several places to park, relax, eat if you want and take great Instagram photos. There are really beautiful older buildings and just a slower setup of places to feature it is my number one selection because it has the most to really offer in the smaller town.
