Swap The Candy For These Cocktails This Halloween

Halloween is just around the corner with that in mind there’s no wonder many of you have already started preparing gatherings and costume parties! If you are having adults-only celebrations this Halloween what better than exchanging classic candies for some of these spooky cocktails? Summon up your inner bartender and play around to prepare some of these delicious beverages where creativity is key! You can even have a Halloween cocktail contest at your party where everyone needs to prepare their own beverage to win a prize. Take some inspiration from a list of our favorite cocktails for this season and let your mind fly with what else you can create to throw a memorable party!

1. Witches Brew Shots

Start with this witches’ brew that should be consumed in small amounts at first also known as shots round! For making this purple drink that looks as if it was a poisonous beverage you will need vodka, lime juice, and raspberry liqueur, mix them all together, add some purple food coloring to give it a more deep color, shake it well and served in your already rimmed with sugar shot glasses. These shooters can be turned into a long drink by replacing the lime juice and adding citrus soda if you do the cocktail this way be sure to serve it in a highball rimmed with sugar and crushed ice.

2. Black Magic Galaxy Cocktail

This black shimmering cocktail is going to be a hit at any party this Halloween season! To make it you will just need black vodka, freshly squeezed lime juice, simple syrup and of course ice! Add all of the ingredients into your cocktail shaker, and shake, shake, shake for about 30 seconds. Before serving the cocktails in the glass of your choice add the edible pearl dust you can shop in white, silver or gold to the bottom of the glass to give it that shimmering effect to your drinks. Serve and enjoy!

3. Candy Corn Cocktail

Okay we know sometimes we cannot completely ditch candy from our menus on Halloween celebrations, but what about turning our favorite candies into a deliciously sweet cocktail? To make this cocktail you will need candy corn, a vodka shot, lemonade, orange juice, and some grenadine. Pour all the ingredients except the grenadine in your cocktail shaker and shake until well combined. Serve the mixture into your martini glasses and slowly add the grenadine close to the rim to simulate the candy corn layers. Finish by adding as much whipped cream as desired and some pop rocks or sprinkles for an extra fancy looking cocktail!

4. La Llorona Cocktail

Straight from the classic folklore legend from Hispanic America, La Llorona (The Weeping Woman) is known for walking in her flowy white dress at night, crying and looking for the children she had drowned. But don’t worry, no ghost is going to hunt you when you prepare this cocktail! For making this you will need pisco brandy, fresh lime juice, fresh lemon juice, granulated sugar, crushed is, Angostura bitters and as an option for a more dramatic effect, dry ice. Mix all the ingredients but the Angostura bitters in a cocktail shaker and serve into your favorite glasses, top with a few drops of the bitters and add some dry ice to give it the effect of a foggy night where la Llorona might appear!

5. Gin Goblin Cocktail

Kind off healthy cocktails are known a thing with this green gin goblin! You will need brewed green tea, cucumbers, mint, lemon juice, honey, gin, salt, and a few kiwis if you want to have a sweeter version of this cocktail. Start by mixing together the green tea, lemon juice, gin, and honey, then toss the sliced cucumbers, mint and kiwi if you choose to use it into a blender. Blend together the green tea mixture and the cucumbers until smooth. Serve with ice cubes, garnish with mint, cucumber slices and add a spooky skeleton to give it an extra go. Drink with no regrets!

6. Black Magic Jell-O Shots

Fun layered Jell-O Shots perfect for any Halloween party you might think of throwing this season! To make these funny shooters you will need to make to separate layers, so it gives you the perfect effect. Start with the blue layer for which you will need berry blue Jell-O mix, boiling water, cold water, and vodka, mix the Jell-O with the boiling water, add cold water and vodka until combine. Serve on the cups of your choice and let it chill until set. When the blue layer is firm, start with the purple layer that will need grape Jell-O mix, boiling water, cold water and vodka to make it. Follow the same steps that you did with the blue layer and serve the purple layer on top of this one in the same cup. Chill the shots until they are firm and sprinkle with black sanding sugar to give them a spookier looking effect. Keep your Black Magic Jell-O Shots on the fridge until the party starts!

7. Dracula’s Blood Cocktail

Vampire inspired cocktails can’t be missing from your party! And this Dracula’s Blood cocktail is going to be a big hit at your party. For making this cocktail you will need beet juice, tequila Blanco, citrus liqueur, lemon juice, agave nectar, sparkling pomegranate and orange, pomegranate seeds and for the vampire blood-rim to add to your glasses you will need sugar, beet juice, and Karo syrup light. Start by combining the beet juice, syrup and sugar in a saucepan over high heat until it comes to a boil. While the mixture is still hot dunk the top of your glass into the mixture to create the bloody rim, be creative as to how you want the drippings to be created! To make the cocktail mix all the ingredients together, stir well and serve on your blood-dripping glasses, use the pomegranate seeds as a garnish to simulate blood droplets.
