With Superbowl Sunday coming up, we thought it’d be a good idea to share some of our favorite game day finger foods with you. From sweet to savory to anything in between, these apps will keep guests’ hunger at bay while they’re avidly watching the game. Here are Super Bowl finger foods that’ll keep guests wanting more.
We wanted to start off this list with something a little more substantial (we know the “filled up on lots of chips” feeling all too well). These tender morsels are packed with showstopping flavor and tang, so too much just won’t be enough! Just combine a couple pounds of ground chicken with spices (including salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic), eggs, and panko bread crumbs before forming into one-inch balls and baking them in the oven. Do your guests appreciate something a little fresher? These gorgeous Caprese salad skewers will satisfy their sophisticated palettes and your busy schedule. All you need to assemble this delicious snack are mini mozzarella balls, basil slices, cherry tomatoes, and balsamic vinegar. Just layer the ingredients on toothpicks (we recommend following a tomato-basil-mozzarella pattern), position them on a plate, and add a drizzle of balsamic before watching them magically disappear (after your guests get a hold of them, that is). Make sure to save any leftover Mac & Cheese you have (or any other kind that’s been refrigerated at least overnight)- this will provide the perfect base for this dish. Mix your mac with shredded parmesan, and cheddar before scooping into uniform sized balls. Then dip into the egg wash and bread crumbs before putting them into the fridge for half an hour. Who doesn’t love a zesty plate of wings? Now you can serve this game day classic without the hassle of deep-frying: all you’ve got to do is rinse and pat a couple pounds of chicken wings dry, dredge with flour, baking powder, salt, and pepper, and bake until crispy (about 15-20 minutes on each side). After they’re done baking, coat them generously with your favorite buffalo sauce (storebought works just as well as homemade) and broil until golden. Don’t let the puff pastry intimidate you- this app can be whipped up in the span of a few commercial breaks (more or less) and will knock the socks off of your guests! Start by sauteéing some sliced cremini mushrooms and setting them aside. Then sautee your onions, caramelize, and toss in a bit of sugar and thyme. To make this cute and delectable dish for yourself, combine eight ounces of queso fresco and eight ounces of cream cheese until smooth. Then roll into little balls (around one inch in diameter) after the mixture’s refrigerated for about twenty minutes. Then, roll the cheese balls into your desired coating (cranberries, scallions, parsley, or bacon bits are all great choices) before topping with one small pita chip each and displaying with pride! Give your guests a classic American delight during this classic American tradition (football is to the U.S. as hockey is to Canada…). To make them, just place a few crescent rolls on a parchment-lined baking sheet, add a brown sugar mixture (featuring apple pie spice), and top with pecans and a granny smith apple slice before baking until golden brown.
