12 Summer Nail Polish Colors You Need To Try

Summer’s coming! Oh, how I can’t wait. Neither can the rest of the world. Ok, maybe it’s just those of us in the North who are done with, and sick of, winter.

Really, summer colors are pretty all year round. Pinks, purples and baby blues. Dark, fresh-cut grass, green. (My favorite part of summer!)

Here are 12 beautiful colors to use this summer.

JINsoon Soft Lavender

I love light purple. It’s such a soft and beautiful color. Maybe it’s because Easter is nearing, but it always reminds me of an Easter egg. So light and soft.

JINsoon Tweety

Who doesn’t love Tweety! Add this bright, sunny, yellow color to your line up of summer nail polish colors this summer to brighten both your nails and your mood. I love how it stands out. It will definitely help you stand out.

Pair it with a little black dress, or black bathing suit, for full popping contrast effect!

Essie Gel Couture 2-Step Longwear Nail Polish, Sizzling Hot Pink

I love hot pink. It is probably one of my favorite colors. In my opinion, hot pink goes with anything. It can be matched with any color, any outfit. I just really love pink.

Much like a yellow, pink goes great with black. Any bright color is a magnificent contrast to the dark of black.

OPI Nail Lacquer, All Your Dreams In Vending Machines

I hesitated with this one a little bit because it’s a little bit out there. Lime green isn’t a color that you often see, but it’s one heavily associated with summer.

Cold margaritas and my personal favorite drink, a Scooby Snack, are both lime green. When I think margarita, I think warm days on the beach. Sitting in the sand and swimming in the clear waters of the ocean.

I think spending time with my friends. I think music and late nights around a bonfire. I think fun.

JINsoon ENFLAMMÉE

I like this one because it reminds me of a bonfire.

I think bonfires are the best part of warm weather. There’s just something about gathering around a big pit of flames, with a cold drink in my hand, lots of friends and some music in the background that just calms a person down. Listening to the crackling of the flames is amazing.

I’m also the person who likes to figure out what I can (safely!) throw in to make it turn pretty colors.

Throw in some glow sticks and my night is made.

Essie Nail Polish, Glossy Shine Finish, Watermelon

So. Pretty. Not quite a hot pink, but bright enough to spring you right into summer.

This semi toned down shade is a little easier to pair with different colors and probably won’t make you feel like people are staring at you just because your nails are the brightest color on the planet.

This shade would be fun to do a little artwork on and actually paint some watermelons onto your nails. I think it would be fairly easy to accomplish.

ZOYA Nail Polish, Sia

I LOVE this bright blue! It isn’t quite light enough to be sky blue, but not quite green enough to be an oceany color.

It’s a perfect red, white and blue color. It would be a fun addition for the fourth of July. Again, if you’ve got even minimal skills, you could do some pretty cute designs with this color if you added red and white, and use a little bit of striping tape!

OPI Infinite Shine Nail Polish in Do You Sea What I Sea?

This blue is stunning. Granted, I’m a little bit of a sucker for any color involving glitter, or any type of glitter like effect. If it sparkles…it’s me. My friends would laugh their ass off. Then agree.

This one would be perfect, again, for the Fourth of July. This would add just a little pop.

While this isn’t a bright color, it would still match beautifully with black. It reminds me of a night sky. (I am, apparently, in a color black mood!)

Defy and Inspire – Paradise Island

Seafoam green. It might not be the most beautiful comparison, but it reminds me of the seafoam and seaweed that often float in the water. I blame growing up in Minnesota for this, but I truly love the water. I could stare at it for hours.

Essie Gel Couture – Rock the Runway 270 (Fierce Scarlett Red)

Who doesn’t love bright red!? Red is absolutely my favorite color. I’ve even bought cars just because they’re red. Is that bad?

Anyways! Red goes with everything. Combine this with the glittery blue above and a nice, stark white for some red, white and blue Fourth of July nails. (It’s my favorite holiday, can you tell?)

Also, if you forget sunscreen, you can match your nails! (I don’t recommend doing that. I’ve done it more than once. It’s not fun.)

Tom Ford Nail Lacquer in Toasted Sugar

I almost fell over when I saw the price of this nail polish. $37 is a LOT for a bottle of polish. Especially a nude type of color.

With that said, nude is a beautiful color for nail polish. It’s sophisticated and allows for some color without really making your nails pop. Professional.

Sally Hansen Color Therapy Nail Polish in Blushed Petal

One more beautiful and professional color. A lot of the colors on this list were super bright and striking. I felt like I needed to add a few toned-down colors to make sure that this list was truly for everyone.
