10 Summer Hair Trends You Have To Be On Top Of This Year
Summer hair deserves extra attention! Whether you’re on vacation, chilling by the pool, or have a chic summer internship, these are perfect for you. Here’s a list of the top 10 summer hair trends that you need to know about!
1. Pineapple Ponytail
The name of this summer hair is just fun! Having your hair in this style is easy and you won’t have to worry about your hair sticking to the back of your neck, that’s so annoying. This hairstyle looks best with curly or wavy hair because the volume looks. This summer hairstyle is pretty easy to do. You place your hair into a ponytail on the top of your head, like a tiara. Some of the hair in the back will fall back but grab some pins and make them stay up. And boom, that’s it. You just created a Pineapple Ponytail.
2. Rope Braid Ponytail
This unique braid looks harder than it is, in fact, it only takes 5 minutes to create. Once you continue to do this style you will be an expert and will have friends asking you to style their hair. This hairstyle is best with straight hair with all the tangles combed out thoroughly. Start by parting the hair in half, then divide the top into equal halves. Twist the 2 pieces counter-clockwise around your fingers. As you work your way down grab sections of your hair and twist with the other side and work your way down. Once the strands of hair come to an end tie it up with a hair tie and your finish.
3. Top Knot Bun
When this style is done right it looks very chic and classy. If hurried, this still can look like a messy bun. Each style is cute but we’re going to focus on the chic and classy look. This is one of my favorite styles because it flatters your face. Start by making a ponytail with a hair tie on the crown of your head, backcomb the ponytail, then start to wrap all the hair clockwise around the hair tie. Finally, secure your hair with bobby pins and place them from the top of the bun to the bottom. We don’t want your hard work to go to waste! Now you can pick on a cute outfit and enjoy your new summer hairdo.
4. Half-Up Half-Down
This summer hair trend is everywhere and can be done with any length or type of hair. You can add your twist to it but I am going to give you the basics. With this style, the top part of your hair can be in a bun or a ponytail and it can even be done with half of your hair up or only a third. You’re in charge of this hair masterpiece!
5. Side Dutch Braid
This is a casual summer hair trend that will go well with whatever outfit you chose. This style, in my opinion, looks cute with longer hair because once it’s complete the hair would drape over your shoulder. To start make sure your hair is brushed and tangle-free. Part your hair to one side, left or right, whichever you prefer. Gather all your hair to the side you chose. Split your hair in 3 even sections and start braiding until you reach the end of your hair. Dutch braids are similar to French braids, except you add hair to the strands rather than braiding over them like the French braid. Continue to braid your hair and move towards the opposite side of your hair. Once you reach the end use a hair tie to secure your hair and pull a few pieces of hair from the braid to loosen it and give it volume. Once the desired amount of hair is loosened you are finished!
6. Beach Waves
This hairstyle is also called Mermaid Hair. What a perfect summer hairstyle! This hair blowing in the wind is such a scene from a movie but amazing. The creation of these beach waves is going to be quick and painless. It’s summer and I know you have way more important things to do than your hair. All you need is some heat protectant products and a curling wand. When you use the wand, you don’t start from the root of the hair and you don’t start at the same spot. Make sure you apply a heat protectant to each strand because you apply heat.
7. Reverse Half-Up
This summer hair trend is for those super-hot super days where you don’t want hair on your neck. it’s easy and works better for those with short curly hair. You divide your hair in half and the lower part of your hair is the part that you tie-up. The top of your hair is free and can be pinned down so that it doesn’t interfere with your vision.
8. Pigtails
This is a summer hairstyle for all types of hair! Start by dividing your hair into two equal pieces, you should have a handful of hair in your left hand and one in the right hand. Place one section of your hair in a hair tie, braid down the opposite section and then on the end of your hair wrap it with a hair tie, then do the same for the opposite side of your hair. You’re done!
9. Lazy Side Ponytail
This is my go-to hairstyle! It’s just like a regular low ponytail except that it is not tight, it drapes down below the ear and relaxes on either of your shoulders. The hair tie is usually a few centimeters from the base of your hair. Pin down the hairs on the other side that didn’t make it into the ponytail or the strands that may fall out.
10. Fishtail Braid
This is one of the most unique styles of braids that I’ve seen in a while. To start you divide your hair in 2 even sections, one on the left and the other on the right. Start by taking a small piece of your hair from the left to the right side and tuck it under. Tug 2 sections to tighten the braid, then do the same for the right side and tuck it under the left side and then tightened. Keep alternating until you reach the end of your hair, then tie it together with a hair tie.
