10 Summer BBQ Side Dishes Everyone Will Be Fighting Over
It’s finally summer time. That means it is officially swimsuit, sunshine, and outdoor BBQ season! Hardly anyone can resist all the delicious foods that always come with a traditional BBQ. Try adding some of these delicious summer BBQ side dishes at your next BBQ and people will go crazy!
1. Creamed corn
The corn you love with a thick and creamy texture!
2. Cheesy grilled potatoes
While you’re on the grill, slice or dice up some potatoes and throw them in aluminum foil with lots of cheese and plenty of seasoning!
3. Buffalo coleslaw
Coleslaw is a classic side dish that gets paired with BBQ all the time. Add a twist to it by mixing in some buffalo sauce for an extra kick!
4. Fried pickles
Pickles on a BBQ sandwich are great. Then, there are pickles tossed in flour and put in the deep fryer… DELICIOUS! Get them straight out of the fryer and dip them in some homemade buttermilk ranch for the perfect side dish.
5. Potato salad with chives
Another classic dish! You just can’t go wrong with potato salad. Sprinkle some chives on top for a nice visual and tasty compliment!
6. Grilled chicken kebabs
Grilled chicken is great on it’s own, but by itself it’s not necessarily a great side dish. Cut it up in small chunks, add slices of fruit or veggies, and put it all on a skewer for some delicious kebabs!
7. Pasta salad
Cook up your spiral-shaped pasta and add the Italian dressing and baby tomatoes for a side dish you really can’t go wrong with.
8. Texas-style garlic fries
Everything’s bigger (and better) in Texas! Thick cut fries with garlic seasoning and plenty of cheese are a perfect addition to any BBQ! Want a little more heat? Top it off with jalapeno slices!
9. Dr. Pepper baked beans
I’ve always loved baked beans and the way they compliment BBQ. When I saw that Dr. Pepper had created baked beans infused with the soda flavor, however, I fell in love. To add a new and unique element to you BBQ, you have to try this side!
10. Smoked macaroni and cheese
Smoked macaroni is the perfect addition to your BBQ, especially if the barbecue itself is also smoked. Add some bacon for a bit more texture and flavor!
