Staples Your Closet Needs Yesterday

Do you ever investigate your entire closet and think you have nothing to wear? Of course, you do! We have all been there. We are getting ready for lunch, a night out, or a business meeting, and you think you have nothing to wear even though your closet is busting with clothing. Therefore, it is imperative that you have closet staples to build your wardrobe around. If you have these closet staples, it will eliminate all those times you are getting ready and feel as though none of the clothing is good enough and can’t seem to put together an outfit! Make sure to keep reading to learn all about how to build a closet full of important staple pieces.

1. A good pair of jeans

If you don’t have a pair of jeans that you love, this is where you should start. A good pair of jeans can take your wardrobe far and should be a staple. I recommend finding a pair that you find comfortable and maybe buying a pair or two. I think it is a good idea to have a ripped and non-ripped pair of jeans. The ripped pair of jeans are perfect for a night out to the bar, but a non-ripped pair and great for events where you feel like you need to look more professional and conservative. I would say that it is best to have these pairs of jeans in two different washes so that you can wear them with other colored and patterned tops, this will make it best for putting together outfits, and you will feel as though you are getting your money’s worth after buying two different pairs of jeans. A good pair of jeans is a staple in anyone’s wardrobe, so make sure you have a team you love!

2. Non-denim pants

I know I just told you you need jeans, but it is also a good idea to have a pair of non-denim pants. These pants can be dress pants, linen pants, or slacks. I recommend having a pair of pants that is non-denim because it can elevate any outfit and make you seem more professional. I would also say that I often feel as though I need to dress up but don’t want to wear a skirt or a dress, and having a pair of non-denim pants allows me to do this. They are a great addition to your closet because they will enable you to look sophisticated, and depending on your type, you can look professional or sexy! Having a pair of non-denim pants in your closet should be a staple that, if you don’t have, you need to order it immediately!

3. Button-down shirt

A button-down shirt is a must and is a closet staple! There are plenty of options out there. You can do cotton, linen, satin, and many other fabrics. I recommend a button-down shirt as a closet staple because you can wear this top year-round. It can make a look more sophisticated and professional, or you can wear this button-down to the beach as a cover-up. You can throw on a button-down with your favorite pair of biker shorts and sports bra and elevate your look. A button-down shirt is truly a staple that every wardrobe should have as it gives you flexibility within your wardrobe too, and elevates any luck. I believe that a perfect button-down shirt can go a long way in your closet and will quickly become a staple.

4. Blazer

Everyone should have a blazer in their closet. Yes, Blazers can be good for a business meeting I’m going to work, but they’re also a cute jacket. You can pair your blazer with your favorite pair of sneakers, dress, jeans, and tank top to elevate your look. If you are looking for ways to improve your style and look more sophisticated, a blazer is a perfect addition to your staples and your closet. Depending on your type and preferences, you can find cropped Blazers, longer Blazers patterned Blazers right color Blazers, or you can pick your typical standard blazer as well. There are so many options, so make sure to choose a blazer that best fits your wardrobe. I guarantee you won’t regret this purchase as you can wear it with anything! A good blazer can elevate any look and make you look sophisticated and suitable for any occasion!

5. A modest dress

Let’s face it, we all love a good mini dress or Maxis with slits, but sometimes we need that modest dress. Having at least one modest dress in your closet is a staple because you don’t realize how much sometimes you need this type of dress until it’s too late! These are great for work events, interviews, family gatherings, and celebrations. I can’t express how many times I’ve gone into my closet and wanted to wear a dress to a cousin’s communion, baptism, or a family affair and can’t find one that fits this occasion. I’m not saying the dress must be colonial looking or super conservative. But sometimes we need clothing that covers our chest and shoulders and is a little longer. A modest dress is a staple you should always have in your closet because you never know when you’ll need a dress like this. And they’re honestly hard to come by, so I recommend having one in your closet, so you have something ready to wear when the opportunity arrives. You can’t go wrong with having a modest dress in your closet. I promise you’ll get more use from it than you might think.

6. A neutral handbag

I highly recommend investing in a neutral handbag! Everyone needs one bag that can go with anything in their closet, so try to stick to neutral tones, tans, creams, and even light grays. You’ll want a purse or handbag that can go with anything in your closet. Something ready to always go, and all you must do is throw your wallet and phone in two, and you can head out the door. Yes, having fun and colorful bags is fantastic, but having a neutral handbag in your closet is a staple you won’t regret. Perfect for those outfits that are bright, colorful, and patterned and you don’t want to distract or take away, the neutral handbag goes excellent. And for your outfits that are simpler still, this neutral handbag is a perfect pairing. I highly recommend having at least one neutral handbag in your closet to ensure that you have a bag that can go with any outfit for any occasion!

These are the closet staples that I can’t live without, and I don’t think you should either. They may not seem extraordinarily exciting, but they will make your life much easier. Having these items and clothing options in your closet will simplify your life and allow you to elevate your style. I guarantee that all these items will be used throughout the year, and you won’t regret purchasing them. So, if you don’t have these staples in your closet yet, I highly recommend you go online and do some shopping! All these items are the best closet staples!
