10 Spring Fashion Trends That Elevate Your Style

January showcased all the hot trends coming for Spring 2021. Things were done a little differently this year with many of the fashion shows taking place online, which means that many more people got to be involved. You could easily stream your favorite designer’s shows from just about anywhere. Here are the ten spring fashion trends we noticed that will help you elevate your style.

1. Oversized Button Down

Not your boyfriends’ shirt! Make this one all your own. People will be staring when you’re strutting in this trend, but it’s not for the reason you’d think. The trend this spring will be the outrageous portions and colors you decide to sport. There are many ways you could style an oversized button-down. As seen below, you can leave it open to show a little skin. You can wear it as a dress, or you can layer it under a sweater vest. We’re excited about this trend because there’s a lot you can do with it.

2. Trench Coats

A classic reimagined! We can’t remember a time when trench coats were out of style, but as per usual, they just keep getting a modern update to keep up with the industry. A lot of the trench coats this season have a more boxy and structured appearance as seen below. We also noticed that most of the trench coats were worn closed as opposed to open. A bold boxy trench coat with a cinched belt will have you looking chic as ever this spring!

3. Floral Prints

When we say floral prints we mean bold, loud, and pastel, of course. Think of the most obnoxious flower pattern in your head, and that’ll be the trend this spring. Think literal neon flower patterns! If that sounds a bit too risky for you then you can always opt for a more subtle and elegant pastel floral print. Anything pastel-colored will always be on-trend for spring.

4. Wind Breakers

Something sporty, chic, and comfortable is always a trend we can get behind! Windbreakers are coming back with a vengeance. You are going to see lots of bright neon and pastel windbreakers this season. Not only are the colors going to be bold, but they are going to be playing with shapes. Ever seen a windbreaker dress? Well, you have now, and you might even be wearing them this Spring!

5. Khaki

Khaki is a timeless color, but it’s usually only worn as one piece of an outfit. It’s either a top or bottoms, but now it’s both! For this trend, you are going to be seeing all shades of khaki being worn together to make a semi-monochrome outfit. An entire khaki outfit looks high end and expensive. It’s also something you can totally play around with so the possibilities are endless.

6. Tie-dye

This trend is totally giving us 70’s vibes and we are living for it! Typically, tie-dye has a negative stereotype. When people see it they think of hippies, peace, and love. We love that it’s becoming chic again! There was an uprise in the use of tie-dye in 2020 with people using the pattern with nude colors. It seems like this spring the fashion industry is straying away from that and bringing back the full-blown rainbow tie die. This was an iconic era, and tie-dye is symbolic of that. This spring it seems like the stereotype will be lifted and tie-dye will be trendy again.

7. Wide Leg Jeans

Mom jeans were so last season! Wide leg jeans are the new “it” denim! Keeping on the theme of iconic 70’s trends we have the wide leg jean. This was a style that was popularized in the 70’s and the trend lasted all the way to the early 2000’s! It seemed like in the 2010’s it lost its touch when skinny jeans became all the rage. Then there was a reboot of the mom jean, which is still in trend. But flare jeans will be more of the go-to this spring. Well, it seems like we’ve come full circle, and you’re definitely going to want to get your hands on a pair of these for spring.

8. Pastels

Would this even be a Spring trends list without including pastels? Pastels are Spring. We just associate the two with each other and it’s something that’s never going to change. And we don’t mind! Pastels are fun! Spring is associated with the feeling of being happy, everything is in bloom again! That’s what pastels are symbolic of. There’s never going to be another time you can wear baby pink, baby blue, and yellow all at the same time so take advantage of it!

9. Cinched Belt

Cinched belts were all over the runway this year, designers were literally throwing them on every look they could. We get it though, you can throw a chunky cinched belt over any look and it instantly levels up the look! If you work in an office setting, or if you are looking for a model on the go look, this will be an instant accessory to get you to that type of aesthetic. Take an oversized button-down shirt and throw a cinched belt on top to make an elegant look. Throw a matching cinched belt on your trench coat, or throw one over your baggy t-shirt. You can’t go wrong with this trend.

10. Crazy Coats

This Spring is all about having fun and experimenting with crazy colors and structures of clothing. Expect to see bold and bright. Spring 2021 is going to be all about a crazy patterned statement jacket. Something that normally would just look all over the place, is now going to be the trend. You can wear a statement jacket with a plain outfit underneath or you can do a full blow bold look. This trend is going to be a head-turner for sure.
