Spring Break is a monumental rite of passage for most college students. However, not all students are able to make their way home (or to some exotic destination), and are often forced to stay on campus. If you are one of these students, it doesn’t mean you can’t have fun or find something to do with your time. OR, if you are planning on going back home, but won’t be joining those sunning in Cabo or sightseeing in Rome, there are plenty of things for you to do to enjoy your Spring Break staycation! There will be several movies coming out the week of spring break, so make a day out of it and treat yourself to some fro-yo!
Grab a buddy, a book, or just enjoy some alone time with the fresh air while getting extra Vitamin D from the sun. Make a run to the grocery store or your favorite cafe and pick up your some outdoor-friendly and easily pack-able foods.
Museums hold many great treasures from a time before you stepped into your campus city. It is a great way to get to know the place where you are currently spending the majority of your time.
Take some time away from all those social networking sites that rule the world. Try going an entire day with your phone left tucked away in your room. It’ll feel weird at first, but by the end of the day, I can almost guarantee you’ll feel liberated.
There are tons and tons of DIY projects that you can find online. Whether you want to spruce up your dorm room or your wardrobe, visit Pinterest to find all kinds of do it yourself time-passers.
Pamper yourself. You deserve it after endless lectures and hand-cramping notes. All this day should consist of is you sitting back and relaxing without a care in the world. Give yourself a mani-pedi, take a hot bubble bath, or even make an appointment for a massage at a local spa.
As college students, we are all a little sleep deprived. Use this down time wisely and catch up on some much-needed sleep. By doing so, you will go back to school rejuvenated and ready to finish the semester strong!
Instead of downing beers on the beaches of Cabo, you can spend Spring break working toward your dream summer body. Whether you want to lose some weight, tone up, or just stay in shape, the gym may be the perfect place for you to spend your break. You can even enjoy the outdoors with some hiking or jogging.
Netflix and HULU are two of our guilty pleasures! Find a show you have always wanted to watch and binge watch it. You can even re-watch an old favorite.
Even though you don’t have a week long vacation planned out, you can still do a little bit of traveling! Round up some of your best friends and take a trip to a nearby beach or campsite for a day/night.
Check out some local artists, or see if one of your favorites is coming to town. You can have fun and make some awesome memories; the two goals of a great spring break!
Your family probably misses you like crazy since you ditched them for the big bad world of college. Take some time to catch up with them and at least pretend like you missed them too.
