Sorority Rush Outfits For Every Day Of Recruitment

Going through recruitment can be stressful as it is–maybe you have your heart set on a sorority, or maybe you don’t. Maybe you have to miss class or have to miss a round of recruitment. Maybe you don’t know a lot of girls going through rush, so who will you talk about it with? Oh and of course, what are you supposed to wear?

Being scared about what to wear should be the last thing on your mind during recruitment. While every school is different and has different dress codes, they all typically follow one pretty basic dress attire for the week. As the week goes on, your outfit gets dressier. With this guide, you’ll be able to put together a stellar outfit for every day of recruitment, that will for sure make a lasting impression.

Fun Jeans or a Skirt, T-Shirt, Sandals/Sneakers

Typically on the first day of recruitment (or maybe first two days depending on how long your recruitment is), you’ll get a t-shirt that everyone has to wear. Sometimes they definitely aren’t the cutest, and it’s hard to get remembered. For that reason, I would suggest wearing a cute and fun pair of jeans with a fun pair of sandals or sneakers. Invest in a pair of jeans that are trendy–maybe they don’t go with everything, but they make a statement. For shoes, the same thing–something that will stand out and make the plain old shirt a little less boring. Try a jean with some sort of print, and a platform sneaker for the ultimate “cool girl” factor.

Dressier Skirt Or Shorts, Blouse, Sandal Or Wedge

This outfit can work well even if you have a 2ndt-shirt to wear that they give you. If they don’t, you can wear some sort of plain blouse. It’s more of a “snappy casual” look, so a bright colored scalloped short or a dressier skirt would work perfect. Make sure if the skirt is bright, your top is lighter or a more neutral color. Shoes can be tricky with this look, so go for maybe a nude wedge or sandal. That way you’re not over-doing it, but you still stand out.

Brunch Romper Or Dress, Heel

For the later days of recruitment, you’ll want to slowly start looking more dressy. Doesn’t have to be your prom night part 2, but I like to call this type of look more of a “brunch” outfit. If you were going to a nicer brunch somewhere in New York or Chicago, what would you wear? Typically a nicer looking romper (that isn’t cheap material or one you would throw over a swimsuit), or a sundress that isn’t toosummery. By that I mean, don’t take the sundress term too literal and wear one with mini flowers all over it. Get something still nice, but maybe more versatile. For shoes, I would suggest wearing a heel. You can get away with a wedge, but it’s better to be dressed up throughout the week than not enough.

Exactly like it’s stated, the last day should most certainly be your most dressy. I think the best way to describe a look like this might be what you would wear to a family wedding, or your boyfriend’s sisters wedding. Keep it classy, but definitely be bold. The best way to achieve that is get a really interesting dress, but a neutral color. This is typically the preference tea day, so it’s more serious. If you reallywant to impress a certain sorority and you know some of their colors, wear them. If Delta Gamma is your top house of choice, you can’t go wrong with a navy or light blue.
