12 Songs To Cry In Bradley University’s Library To

Honestly, you aren’t a Bradley University student if you haven’t cried in the library at least once. We’ve all been there. Sometimes it’s finals week and sometimes it’s a random Tuesday that’s really been a struggle. Here are 12 good songs to have a good cry to while stressing about whatever it is going on in your life.

Breathe Me – Sia

If you’ve seen the movie Cyberbully with Emily Osment, you’ll know why this song hurts to listen to. Outside of that terribly emotional scene, the song overall is very depressing, and if you weren’t crying before you put this song on, you will be after. Sai’s voice is so haunting in this that you’ll be in fetal position sobbing under the table in no time. And no, that essay will not be done after you calm back down.

Butterfly Fly Away – Miley Cyrus and Billy Ray Cyrus

This song, most prominently known from The Hannah Montana Movie, tore my heartstrings out. Miley sings this emotionally raw song about how her dad did everything for her, as her mom died when she was really young (in the movie). It turns into a sweet duet with her dad, and basically everything hurts after listening. This song never fails to make me cry like a baby.

The Light Behind Your Eyes – My Chemical Romance

You already know by the artist of this song that this is gonna be a tear jerker. It doesn’t help me that I was reading a sad story at the time of discovering this song, and the person in the story dies. But the song is also about someone who dies, and it is so sad. I think in total, I’ve cried in Bradley University’s library at least 4 times, and 3 of the 4 times i listened to this song after starting. It just really adds to the sadness that was built up from procrastination.

Forever and Always – Parachute

I have to thank my friend Ashley for showing me this song, and the first time I listened to this I bawled like a baby. This is a good song for getting the tears started. If it is your first time listening to this, you need to isolate yourself and really listen to the words, then you’ll understand why it hurts so much.

I Fall Apart – Post Malone

This song makes me want to sob and also beat up whoever hurt Post Malone like that. He didn’t deserve that, and I don’t deserve to feel like that while I’m writing the 4th 20 page paper for finals week.

Wild Horses – Natasha Bedingfield

This iconic queen, the woman, the myth, the legend. She wrote the early 2000’s bob “Pocketful of Sunshine”, and she’s back now to stab us in the heart and steal the sunshine away. Seriously, this song isn’t even sad lyrically but the way she sings and the slow piano of it really tugs the heart a lot. Each time the chorus comes back it brings with it waves of sadness, perfect for Bradley University library cry sessions.

Not About Angels – Birdy

Yes, you’re thinking right. This is the very sad song from The Fault in Our Stars and it is here to contribute to the tear fest. Just by associating the song with the movie, it’s enough to want to cry, never mind that the lyrics are also sad as heck. This is a go-to for when it’s time to cry in the Bradley University library.

Can’t Help Falling In Love With You – Elvis Presley

This song. If you have not read the supernatural fanfiction “Twist and Shout”, I highly recommend, as it is a very fantastic piece of literature aside the fact it’s about Castiel and Dean Winchester. There is a scene in that involving this song and I sobbed like a baby reading it while listening to this. To this day, if I listen to this song too long, I will start crying. The gum commercial with the cover of this ruined me. If you don’t want to read that, even just thinking about the one that got away while studying can bring tears. There’s just something about this song.

Shattered (Turn The Car Around) – O.A.R.

My roommate can attest, both of us have cried to this song personally in Bradley University’s library. This is just another generic sad song, and it does the job. I personally have some sad story associated with it, but even people who don’t find it easy to cry to. The green couches in the front of the library are the perfect place to lay down and sob to this song.

It Is What It Is – Lifehouse

Again, this song is just easy to cry to. It sounds like what sitting on a windowsill and watching the rain feels like. The sad vibes allow you to release all of the built up stress because of the labs due next week, along with the variety of tests and notecards there still are to study.

1-800-273-8255 – Logic, Alessia Cara, Khalid

This song is literally to raise awareness about suicide, and the title is the suicide hotline number. This is just a song that makes you sad, and speaks to that inner sadness. It’s a really good and also informative song about what going through this depression is like, as well as what it’s like to struggle with finding help. Because of the content alone, it’s really easy to get emotional while listening.

Cancer – Twenty One Pilots

The last song is actually a cover. The original version is by My Chemical Romance, but has more of an angsty feel to it. Twenty One Pilots did a cover that actually ripped my heart out, rather than just tug at the strings. There’s no way to describe what this song does to a person, you just need to listen to it.
