Singers To Take Fashion Tips From

Fashion and music go hand in hand. Some of the most famous artists of all time are also well known for their iconic style. They are the talented individuals you want to take fashion tips from. Below are a few singers to take fashion tips from.

From over the top, to understated these women know how to create a hit song and hit the streets in the best clothes. This list has fashion tips almost anyone can apply to their wardrobes.

Lady Gaga

I’m not sure what’s more iconic, Lady Gaga’s music or Lady Gaga’s sense of style. She lit the music world ablaze with her powerful pop songs along with her eye-catching outfits. From the meat dress to the alien booties and to her leading lady gowns there are few things this singer can’t pull off. What truly makes her a style icon is the way she exudes confidence in whatever it is she’s wearing.

Janis Joplin

A talent taken too soon. Janis Joplin was definitely one of the greatest rock artists of all time. Not only did her music transcend time so did her style. Allegedly she even inspired Steven Tyler to wrap scarves around his mic stand to this day.

Joplin’s style is hippie, bohemian with a little bit of rock. She’s the perfect blend of the times and what was to come. Anything she’d have worn back then is in style today.

Karen O

To say Karen O is eccentric would be an understatement. O has been involved in many outfits made specifically for her. She has a vision and is capable of executing it both on and off the stage. A fashion tip to take away from this singer would be to take risks.

While some of her outfits are intimidating and probably not something most would wear on the streets there are bits of her style that anyone could incorporate into their everyday outfits.

Courtney Love

To some Courtney Love might not come to mind when you think fashion tips but she is a style icon. In fact a few years ago Nasty Gal collaborated with Love to create her own line of babydoll dresses. This rockstar has iconic music and an iconic sense of style. She managed to mix hyper-feminine clothing with the punk rock scene. The juxtaposition of the two really made her stand out and give agency to many women who also wanted to be a badass in Mary Janes.

Lizzo

Lizzo is the freshest face on the list. More often than not plus-sized women in the entertainment business are limited to being background noise. Or when they do make a name for themselves they’re often more reserved or subtly sexy, not Lizzo.

She is unapologetically fabulous and oozes sex appeal in the best possible way. She has no issue wearing lingerie on stage.

Stevie Nicks

Stevie Nicks is truly the white witch of music. Her style is similar to Joplin’s but definitely more whimsical. What’s even better is Nicks never lost her sense of style. She just entered her ’70s but aging never took away her love of fashion.

This singer is proof that great style can happen at any age, and there isn’t one cookiecutter way of dressing either. While she may not still wear sheer bodysuits and slip dresses on stage anymore she’s still wrapping herself in beautiful boho-inspired clothes.

Lana Del Rey

Lana Del Rey wasn’t the first modern singer to pay homage to old Hollywood glam, but she sure is one of the best to execute it. Since stepping on the scene with her signature pout, cat-eye and dreamy voice fans haven’t been able to get enough of her style. In fact, people are falling over themselves demanding she plays Priscilla Presley in an upcoming movie.

She definitely knows how to rock a tea-length dress. Lana is all about precision. One thing that made women look effortless back then are tailored clothes, which is also how modern-day celebrities seem to look flawless as well. Make sure whatever you choose to wear it fits.

Rihanna

Rihanna is arguably one of the most stylish, if not the most stylish singers in the game. What makes her sense of style stand out from the crowd is her versatility. The best fashion tips to take from Rihanna are to be daring, bold and not to fear experimenting. One minute she’ll show up wearing a Dior dress Grace Kelly would have worn.

The next she’s wearing something that looks like original 1970s Vivienne Westwood. No one alive can tell this singer what to do and that’s why she is truly a fashion icon.

Sade

Sade’s style is as smooth and effortless as her voice. While she can pull off a low-back dress like no one else her more laid-back style is truly what shines. This singer shows off all of the best qualities of ’90s fashion. From the tucked-in button-downs to the slicked-back hair to her blotted lip these are all fashion tips, you should incorporate in your current wardrobe.
