10 Simple Fourth Of July Nails To Keep You Minimalist

Looking for some minimalist 4th of July nail inspiration? You’ve come to the right place! Check out these 10 simple and cute ideas for designs you can do yourself from home.

1. Minimal Stars and Stripes

For the nail art lover who doesn’t want to struggle with details. This first design is easy to accomplish and only requires three colors. Apply a base coat and allow to dry before applying a coat of red polish to four fingers. The fifth finger should be painted blue. Again, allow them to dry before applying a second coat to each color depending on how opaque you want them to be. Finally, use a white polish to draw simple stripes across one red nail and a few small stars on the blue nail.

2. Glitter Polish That’s Patriotic

If you’re looking for an even simpler design to represent your patriotism, try this look. Minimalist in every sense, this all this design requires is three glitter nail polishes and a regular white polish. Apply a red glitter polish on your index finger first. Then, following the usual order, apply the white polish and the blue glitter polish on the following nails. Lastly, to add a little bit of flare, apply a gold polish.

3. Star Decal and Stripes

This design is a little similar to the first, but is made even simpler. Paint all of your nails red except for one which will be painted blue. Using a white polish, draw horizontal stripes on one of the red nails. At this point, you can decide whether you would like the nails to stay shiny or if you would prefer them matte. For the latter, simply apply a coat of matte polish on top, and watch your nails transform. Sticking with the minimalist design, apply a dot of nail glue to the center of the blue polished nail, and place a star decal securely on top.

4. Simple Stripes

For this design, you will need the same three colors (red, white, and blue) as before. Accomplishing this look will require just a small bit of patience and very little effort. First, you will need to paint four of your nails completely red and then one nail completely white. After they have dried, place a piece of tape horizontally across each nail along the tips, covering the same amount of space from the top on each. This will be how you will get the different color tips. On the red nails apply a coat of white polish, and on the white nail apply a coat of blue polish. Don’t worry about going over the tape, because you will be peeling it off to reveal the polish underneath. The outcome should look like the picture below.

5. Patriotic Polka Dots

If you want to do something different from the usual stars and stripes, you can try exchanging the stripes for polka dots. Just apply a coat of white nail polish as the base, and build it up until it is opaque. Then, use a dotting tool to make red, silver, and blue polka dots in different sizes. Voila! An easy patriotic look.

6. Seeing Stars

Although this is probably the simplest design to recreate, it is still very eye catching. To achieve this look, all you will need is some clear polish and a few small pieces of star and polka dot confetti. Simply apply a coat of clear polish, and arrange the pieces of confetti in any way you like on top. Apply another coat of clear polish over the top of the confetti and you’re done!

7.  Red, White, Blue, and A Touch of Glitter

If you don’t want your look to be overtaken by glitter, but still want some shimmer, this is the look for you. Paint each nail in the usual red, white, and blue pattern then apply a bit of silver glitter nail polish at the tips. This way your nails aren’t overwhelmed by glitter, and the patriotic message is still clear. If you’re feeling a little artsy, you could replicate the “I [heart] USA” design from the picture below to add a little more flare to your nails.

9. Polka Dot Flag

This is definitely a minimalist take on the American flag, and we are here for it! You can choose to recreate the polka dotted and striped flag on each nail, as seen below, or opt for just one nail to make a statement.
