20 Signs You’re Definitely A Procrastinator

We’ve all procrastinated on doing a school project or getting that super important essay done, but some people are more prone to procrastination than others. Here is a list of 20 signs that you are definitely a procrastinator, that I know many of you will identify with.

1. The best time to wake up is sometime in the afternoon.

Just because we may not always be able to sleep until noon or later, that doesn’t mean we don’t want to. There is nothing better to procrastinate on than waking up and all that extra time spent sleeping is the perfect time to procrastinate on other important things going on in your life.

2. Who actually needs sleep anyways?

So yeah, we all like to sleep in, but is going to sleep early really going to help us? We may turn off the lights and we may get in bed, but lets be a little bit honest with ourselves. Even if we say we’re going to sleep, all the time we spend trying to convince ourselves that is spent watching cat videos on youtube. By the time we actually care what time it is, the sun is getting ready to rise and now the next thing on our schedule is to procrastinate on waking up.

3. The desire to be a hard worker is almost enough to actually try.

There is always that one non-procrastinator that we procrastinators look up to. They get everything turned in, they are always listening intently to what is being taught, and they are always, always, on time to things. They are so admirable that we almost want to be like them. Unfortunately, we have better things to do; like nap when we should be writing the essay that the non-procrastinator is probably already done with.

4. Exercising? No thanks.

Whether it’s a new years resolution or a desire for the perfect summer bod, exercising is the key to accomplishing that. We feel the determination to be as active and fit as we want to be…until we actually stand up. That one squat or push up is enough, and for now it’s time to get some food. We can do the last nine of them later.

5. Why be on time?

By the time we actually leave the house, we are already supposed to be at our appointment. We don’t mean to sleep in for as long as we do, it’s just something that happens. But the rare days in which we are only a few minutes late are often celebrated with a short nap afterwards.

6. There are better things to be doing than cleaning.

Yes, there are lots of things that are better than cleaning. Sleeping, for example, is one of those things. Besides, we can always clean it later.

7. The only schedule that’s kept track of is the TV schedule.

It’s extremely important that we know what show is playing when and what classes or appointments we need to miss in order to watch them. We can’t afford to miss what has the potential to be a plot advancing episode because there are bound to be spoilers somewhere.

8. But the memes are much better than doing whatever it is I’m supposed to be doing.

Social media is great. It’s always full of fun drama, cat videos, and great memes. All of which are better than whatever we were supposed to be doing. Besides, it’s only been a few hours and we have tons of time before whatever we need to do is supposed to be done.

9. Eh, I’ll do a better job of it later.

We clean every once in a while, and we’ve done a decent job of it for now, but we’ll do a better job at it later. Maybe.

10. That sounds a little bit familiar…

“I think I remember having to do something like that…but I was going to write it down later.”

11. Ah yes, the plans we had for yesterday.

The luckiest people in the world are procrastinators who are friends with procrastinators. That way you can bond and spend time together by making plans and never going through with them. What wonderful memories we have with those friends.

12. The excuses come naturally.

We have progressed exceedingly from the basic “My dog ate my homework” excuse. The plot lines have complexed and the characters have some serious development that novelists would be impressed by. Those 2 day extensions that are given to us are well earned.

13. I wish I cared enough to try and be fashionable.

There are others who are willing to wake up in the early hours to prepare themselves for the day. They are dedicated to looking their best. However, we are lucky if we have ten minutes to get ready. The fashion we wish we could have just takes too much time.

14. I came, I saw, I conquered…two weeks later.

We started with an intent to finish as soon as possible, and with results that would knock the socks off of anyone who witnessed it. However, we had to take a break every so often and by the time we finished the deadline was a few days ago.

15. My future looks bright…but that’s later.

We love to dream about what could be. Where we could be. What we could be doing. But that’s later, and we don’t need to worry about that now.

16. Caffeine is my BFF.

Since sleep is such a top priority, caffeine is a must if we even really want to get up, or, much less, actually do stuff.

17. Sorry, I was sleeping.

This is a common phrase that can be seen throughout our text messages to pretty much anyone.

18. Whoops, forgot to respond.

Every so often we get an important call or text message that needs to be responded to. However, it’s easy to forget about it and remember a little later…and then forget again…and again, until it’s a month too late to respond.

19. Where did all the food go?

Most of our time is spent eating and sleeping. Lot’s of our time is putting off going to the store to get food. Oh well, I’ll get some when I really need it.

20. I definitely didn’t write this article until the day it was due
