High School

20 Signs You Went To Catholic High School

If you survived Catholic high school, I first like to congratulate you.  From personal experience, Catholic school was definitely different than for those who attended a public or private school. Walking through the small halls knowing practically everyone to attending mass with your peers, Catholic school was something you won’t forget!  Read on to find out if any of these 20 things happened to you when you attended a Catholic high school.

1. Whenever you were in mass and stood next to your crush, your hands would get sweaty during the ‘Our Father.’

2. There was no such thing as a “Sex Talk” but rather a “Chastity Talk.”

3. When you didn’t know the answer in religion class, or any class for that matter, you always used Jesus as the answer.

4. Waking up in the morning was stress-free because you had to wear a uniform everyday.

5. The worst insult was being told, “you’re going to hell,” especially of it is from your teacher.

6. You would get super stressed going to confession because you thought of how you’re a terrible person.

7. The school was so small that gossip would spread quickly.

8. You would swear with God’s name knowing you shouldn’t and continued to say it anyway.

9. Going out in public on Ash Wednesday either made you feel prideful or embarrassed when people stared at the cross on your forehead.

10. Religion class was a requirement.

11. At dances you could never get closer to a person without leaving room for the Holy Spirit.

12. There were more uniform checks than drug checks.

You only saw the drug dog once a year.

13. Every morning you said the Pledge of Allegiance along with a prayer.

Emphasis on the line, “one nation under God,” in the pledge.

14. You would get in trouble for anything.

15. You always tried to cheat the dress code.

16. You still remember the lyrics to those catchy Bible songs.

John 3:16 anyone?!

Let’s be honest, you were a holy-roller.

18. When there was a new kid, everyone knew by the next class period.

19. It wasn’t a shock to see a crucifix everywhere in the school.

20. No matter how much you complain about going to Catholic high school, you are secretly happy you met some of your best friends there.
