10 Signs You Grew Up With Only Brothers

Having lots of siblings, cousin, aunts and uncles can only mean one thing. You've got a big family. These are signs you're from a big family!

Life growing up with only brothers means a lot more sporting events, ESPN and wrestling, and a lot less Barbie’s, Disney Princess movies, and dress up. You grew up at the baseball fields cheering on your brothers, instead of at the dance studio learning how to be a ballerina. You were always surrounded by boys and were forced to learn how to play sports in case you were needed as an extra team member. You grew up in a very unique environment, where a majority of your life was focused on your brothers and their events, while you tried to teach yourself how to be girly. If you are the only girl in your family, here are 15 signs that you can relate to by growing up with all brothers.

1.Every day was spent at the baseball fields / basketball courts / football fields

Whenever your brothers had a baseball, basketball or football game, you were forced to go to the game whether you wanted to or not. Your mom would probably pack up a few of your favorite toys and snacks to help keep you occupied during the game. You had your other girl friends that would go to the game and you would meet up in your little spot at the back of the field to play with Barbie’s during the game. As you got older and grew out of the toy phase, you started to actually watch the games, learn how the sports worked, and became your brother’s biggest fans!

2.You grew up learning how to play sports instead of taking dance classes

Your parents didn’t have time to juggle your brother’s sports games while taking you to dance class, so you just didn’t get to do it. Instead, you learned how to play ALL of the sports. You most likely taught yourself how to play sports from all of the games you had to watch, and eventually became a pro at it! All of the boys were jealous of your skills whenever you had to play sports during PE classes in middle and high school. You go girl!

You NEVER got to pick what show to watch because you were always outnumbered and your brothers always wanted to watch ESPN, Star Wars, or The Avengers. 4.You had to play Barbies alone

You always had to play with Barbies alone because your brothers would never, ever even think about playing with you. If your brothers did come in the room to ‘see what you were doing,’ they would most likely mess up your game and take your Barbies just to annoy you. Then, you were forced to play some game with them with their toy cars.

5.You learned how to be tough and wrestle

Playing with your brothers meant lots of competitions, like wrestling. There would be huge wrestling matches in the play room, and you had to be tough because you never got any mercy for being a girl! You learned how to be tough and master wrestling, and can know take down anyone if you ever need too.
