1. In-N-Out is your go-to burger joint.

Late-night cravings? Desperately needing a good milkshake? In-N-Out meets all of those needs. And don’t pretend like you don’t know the secret menu by heart.

2. You can’t handle the cold, at all.

If it’s not between 60°F and 80°F, you’re not interested. The only difference between your summer wardrobe and your winter wardrobe is that you occasionally switch out your shorts for jeans- at night -when it’s really cold.

3. Unless you leave the day before, you’ll still be late for your events.

LA traffic is infamous for its pile-ups, delays, rubbernecking and therefore countless hours spent waiting in the car. You’ve learned the hard way to plan ahead, or accepted the reality that you’re just going to be late.

4. You’ve heard countless jokes about the drought.

Don’t even bother trying to poke fun about where someone else lives. They may be living in a perpetual blizzard, but “at least we’re not in a drought” becomes the classic response to any comment you make.

5. Even if you don’t like sports, you always root for the Dodgers and Lakers.

It doesn’t matter if you think the Lakers should score a touchdown; the second someone tries to trash talk your city’s team, you are a die-hard fan. And don’t even get me started on the civil war between USC and UCLA.

6. You’re used to seeing food trucks and fruit stands on most busy street corners.

No lunch? No problem! You just hit up that little fruit stand after work and enjoy some fruit with lemon and chili powder.

7. You’re no stranger to “green juices” and detoxes.

As an LA native, you’ve seen all the crazy health trends from smoothies, to juices and detoxes. You may have even participated in a few yourself- and don’t forget to post everything you eat!

8. Your parents wanted you to go to UCLA or USC since you were little.

From an early age, you’ve been taught to love these two colleges and put them on your list. To be fair, they’re both excellent schools, close by, and give your parents bragging rights. What’s not to love?

9. You freak out and avoid the roads when it rains.

Even though you know how to drive in the rain, many Angelinos aren’t used to the slippery road and make LA traffic so much worse. In Los Angeles, even drizzles can cause car accidents.

12. Hearing “the 405” or “the I-10” gives you a sense of dread.

Any LA native knows that these are two of the worst freeways you’ll have to drive on. Kiss your free time goodbye, because you’ll be spending it stuck in traffic.

13. You expect gluten free and vegetarian options to be on the menu.

You’re just so used to it at this point-what kind of restaurant doesn’t have gluten free bread, anyway?

14. Every waiter or Uber driver is an actor looking for their lucky break.

As a native, you’ve met tons of people who moved to LA to become rich and famous. None of them have made it yet though.

Just because you live in LA doesn’t mean you live in Beverly Hills. Even if you do live in a “famous” area, you see more tour buses than actual famous people.

17. You had/have an obsession with Chipotle.

Los Angeles is known for it’s excellent Mexican food and Chipotle has become your go-to for great burritos with fresh ingredients. You don’t even care that guac is extra.

18. Earthquakes have to be a 6.0 or more for you to get out of bed.

While East Coasters are terrified of earthquakes, you’ve slept through most of the ones in your area. If nothing in your house broke, that means the earthquake isn’t worth waking up for.

19. You’ve met at least five vegans in your neighborhood.
