10 Signs You Are Too Emotionally Invested In Your Hook Up

Are you getting too attached to your current hook up? Maybe it's time for you to find out. Here are all the signs to look for!

Whenever sex is involved, it is easy to get attached, but could you be getting a little too emotionally attached? If you can relate to most or all of these signs then it might be time to take a step back and reevaluate this hook up situation.

1. You have imagined what it would be like to be a real couple.

Not saying you sit around daydreaming about them for hours, but if you have ever pictured them in a boyfriend/girlfriend setting then you might be too emotionally attached. Not saying this is a bad thing, but if being something more is not what they want too then you can end up getting hurt.

2. You have cried over them.

If you have actually shed tears over this guy or girl, then this is probably the biggest sign that you have caught feelings for your hook up.

3. You get jealous.

If you have ever felt your hands clench up into fists while watching your hook up flirt than someone else, then you are jealous and jealousy is a sure sign you have feelings for them.

4. You do things that only a girlfriend would do.

Bringing them food or buying little presents may be a nice gesture…for a girlfriend. If you are just hooking up then doing little sweet things for them is a sign that you want more.

5. They are the only person you even consider hooking up with.

If you have ever turned down another hook up strictly because of your current hook up (even if they didn’t ask you to) you are definitely very into them.

6. You stay way past your welcome in the morning.

Not saying you have to dip out at 3 in the morning, but staying over until 1:00 p.m. the next day isn’t a cute look either. If you two are just a hook up, he probably expects you to leave in the morning instead of lingering all day and if you consider him as just a hook up, you wouldn’t want to stay long either.

7. You try to casually text or hangout with them without hooking up.

There are only two reasons why you would want to casually hangout with your hook up without actually hooking up. The first being that you no longer want to hook up so you try to push them into the friend zone or it’s because you want them to see you as more than just a hook up. If this second reason sounds about right, then you have definitely become too emotionally invested in him or her.

8. You have emojis next to their name.

Having emojis next to their contact name isn’t always a sign that you have feelings for them. Using fun or flirty emojis like a smiley face or smirk can be fine but, if you are using hearts or kiss emojis then you may be crushing on them a little too hard.

9. You tell your friends back at home you are together.

All of your friends back home are probably not up to date on every detail of your love/sex life so this is your chance to exaggerate but, if you have found yourself telling people that you two are “together” then it probably means that you wish you were.

10. You try to become besties with his best friends.

Obviously it isn’t a big deal to have the same circle of friends but, if you are going out of your way to be close with his friends just to be closer to him then you are way to invested in this hook up.
