Unfortunately in today’s society, it is really hard to find good, genuine guys. It happens to the best of us; you meet a cute boy at a party or club and he is so darn good at pulling all of the moves. You hit it off hard and maybe he takes you out on a date or two, but then things start getting inconsistent. You may feel like you’re questioning his feelings toward you because his behavior is super confusing and well…player-like. Here are 10 signs that you are likely dealing with one.
This is one of the clearest signs that you are likely dealing with a player. He starts off being super persistent with hanging out and texting you a lot, but after not getting what he wanted (aka a hookup), the communication gets more and more sporadic with every passing day.
If this guy is being super sexual with you right away such as: wanting to make out right after meeting you, being very handsy, asking you come over/to stay the night at his place, touching you in intimate areas without consent etc., then that is a pretty confident sign that he is a player and does this a lot with other girls.
If a guy like this makes plans with you to meet up somewhere and then blows you off last minute without any explanation, claims to be “busy”, or decides to be with his buddies (or other girls) instead, then this dude is definitely not making you a priority since he is likely a player. If the flakey-ness makes you super nervous every time you try to make plans, then he is clearly making you a plan B (or C, D, E) in his life.
Players are superrrr smooth and will tell you exactly what you want to hear! If his actions are not consistent with his lovely words, then girl, you better run and not waste your time. He may be just playing Casanova for a while with his moves and phrases just to get what he wants, but don’t be surprised if he doesn’t stick around for long afterwards.
Players are boys that are never wanting to commit to anything or anyone. They just want to have that temporary hookup with as many girls as possible and never be “tied down” to any one person. If this guy you are seeing does not want to commit to just you, does not call you two anything, and/or sees other girls at the same time after being with you for a while, then you are likely dealing with a player.
If this guy you have been hanging out with for a while takes cute pics with you but will NEVER post or show any of them to anyone, then it is kind of a sketchy sign that he may be a player since he does not want people seeing that he is with you. Your man should be proud to be with you!
You have been seeing each other for quite some time and you really want to get to know him and introduce the friend group…but hes being super weird about meeting them. That is a clear sign that this guy is a player and not taking you seriously at all. If he doesn’t want to meet your friends and/or introduce you to his, then it probably means that he’s not seeing this relationship as a potentially long term thing.
If this guy does not really make much effort to make plans with you and only hits you up on those DMs if he sees you’re in the area or when it is convenient for him, then you are probably dealing with a player. If he really wanted to see you and has good intentions, then he should be planning meet ups days before and taking your time into consideration.
Players are usually guys with a little too much confidence because they are typically those good looking boys that get their way. If he is: constantly pointing out how hot he is, saying how lucky you are to be with him, putting you down, telling you how many girls he has been with etc, then boy, bye! Not saying confidence isn’t sexy, but that over-cockiness can be a major red flag.
Last but not least, if this guy shows little to no effort in your relationship in any way, then he is likely just not taking it seriously. Players don’t take into consideration the other person’s feelings, time, nor any commitment, so it is best to walk away and fast. Therefore, if you find yourself putting in a lot more effort in terms of communication, making plans, showing emotions/physical contact, then he is probably not worth your time.
