13 Signs To Get A New Phone

Phones are part of everyone’s daily lives and as of all material items, we need to get a new phone when it is time. But there are signs you cannot ignore when your phone starts to act weird or when normal features don’t work as well as they should. All of these signs should not be ignored and know that it’s time to get a new phone.

1. Phone Keeps Shutting Off

If this is happening to you, this is one of the main signs to get a new phone. If your phone decides to shut off, even when it still has battery power left, this is a strong indicator that it’s time for a new phone. It is a sign that your phone is going to be dead soon and it’s almost like a pre-warning for users to get a phone before your phone completely craps out on you.

2. Phone’s Battery Quickly Runs Out

You’ve just charged your phone and headed to work, rarely touching your phone or using it at all during your shift. When it’s time for lunch, you check your phone and find your battery is already down to twenty percent. This is another sign it is time for a new phone. Your phone’s battery is starting to go, not able to hold in the charge and it quickly goes through the battery.

Most phones have the battery built within and it isn’t easy to pop off the back to get to the battery. This is probably true for some users for they probably can’t just take out the battery to replace it with a new one. If this is the case, then you’ll have to replace the whole phone.

3. Screen Turns White

This is more for people who still have flip phones or phones that slide up to access the keypad. However, this could apply to your phone as well if this happens to you. If your screen randomly goes white, this definitely means you need a new phone. This happens a lot with flip phones after a long time with them. Sometimes, the screen may go back to normal but it may be stuck like that forever.

A white screen means there is something wrong with the wiring, and it’s just easier to go out to get a new phone instead of trying to figure out how to fix it unless you only had the phone for a few months and are wondering what’s wrong. In some cases, you can still hear your phone dinging with messages or calls but you just can’t see anything because of the white screen. Just get a new phone and you’ll be fine.

4. The Phone is Slow

Have there been times your phone has been slow to you, like open up an app or try to connect to the internet? There can be an issue with the hardware or software, causing your phone to be unresponsive at times. With non-working hardware, it will be difficult to get your phone to work with you. However, there could be other reasons why your phone is slow.

Check your system to see if you updated the latest version of your phone. Delete any unnecessary data and apps you don’t need or rarely use. If you check everything on your phone, and its still slow and not listening to you, then it’s time to get a new phone.

5. The Screen is Cracked

For most people, a cracked screen is no big deal. Most people can still use their phones if there’s a small crack in the corner or if there’s a small chip. But it’s not those kinds of cracks that are big deal. These cracks almost look like a spider web is across your screen! These cracks can be a pain to deal with, and some might be so bad that you’ll cut yourself if you try to use the screen. If you can try to replace the screen on your phone, see if you can. But if you can’t, it might be time to replace your phone entirely.

6. The Phone is Low on Storage

Do you constantly get warnings that your phone is full and you need to delete items to free up space? While this is not particularly a sign to get a new phone, it can cause your phone to have problems. There are many different solutions to this such as deleting unnecessary data or downloading your photos to another device so you can delete them off your phone. However, if you love to have many apps on your phone and you don’t want to get rid of anything, then it’ll probably be easier to get a new phone, one that has a lot of storage space.

7. Your Apps Crash Frequently

This is normal in some cases where an app will stop working. Most of the time, this is due to the app itself and not entirely the phone. The app can have some bugs in it causing the app to crash and not work on your phone.

However, this is a bigger deal if your apps are crashing more often than normal, even if the ones that work seem to crash. If this is happening, it may be a sign that something is seriously wrong with your phone. Check to see if your storage is low on space or if there is something wrong with the phone itself. If you can’t find anything wrong, it may be time to get a new phone.

8. The Phone is Damaged

Not all phones are indestructible, but wouldn’t it be nice if they were? While some phones claim they are water-proof or won’t break when dropped, you don’t want to take that chance and find out the claims were false. When your phone gets damaged in any way, it’s only a matter of time before your phone decides to stop working altogether. Any kind of damage done to your phone will affect your phone’s effectiveness.

Don’t panic, this won’t mean your phone will explode at the first sign of overheating, but you shouldn’t push this off either.

At the first sign of your phone overheating, get your phone checked out before you replace it. It could be there is a bug in your phone that needs to be fixed and your phone will be fine again. But if there’s nothing to be fixed, then it is time to get a new one.

If you see your battery bulging, it is a good idea to get a new phone as soon as possible.

12. Power Button Doesn’t Work

To some, this may not seem like an important sign to look into, but it can cause problems if your phone shuts down and you can’t turn it back on. This button, while rarely used, is necessary for the phone to work properly. If you can’t turn the phone off, it’s not a sign your phone is about to die or anything, but it will become a hassle if you can’t turn the phone on or off. It’ll be easier to look into getting a new phone before you have to worry about something as small as the power button.
