15 Signs You Went to Edwardsville High School

If you were ever a tiger at Edwardsville High School, these fifteen signs will be unmistakably recognizable and send you on a trip down memory lane.

1. You are a GasDon’s regular.

There was nothing better than getting a huge drink from GasDon’s after school. It was the place to be and is still one of your fave spots in the ‘Ville.

2. You are a Dress-Up Day pro.

‘Merica Day (and theme days in general) were a HUGE deal and as a result, you know how to dress your best for literally any occasion.

3. Survivor’s “Eye of the Tiger” has been ruined for you.

It was everywhere, all the time. You could think of no song more unoriginal to play at Edwardsville High School sporting events, but you learned all of it anyway. Now just listening to the song makes you shudder a little bit.

4. Your closet is overflowing with orange and black.

Whether you graduated in ’17 or ’87 you probably still have some old tigers gear.

5. You can accessorize a lanyard like nobody’s business.

You’re all about accessorizing, but lets be honest, you probably never wore your lanyard much anyway.

6. You always strive to make everyday the “Best Day Ever” at Edwardsville High School.

Ah yes, the quintessential Edwardsville High School slogan…admit it, it still makes you smile.

7. You are an early riser.

School started in what felt like the middle of the night, and let’s not forget that you would voluntarily go to school early to get loud for Pep Rally’s.

8. You earned a lot of dual credit….and you’re still not sure how.

Who knew that taking foreign language would earn you so many college credits?!?

9. You are really great at lip-syncing.

Between class videos, school-wide videos and the Lip-Sync Battle, you basically deserve a medal.

10.  Cords were super important to you.

Lets be honest, no one joined honor societies if they weren’t going to at least get graduation cords out of it.

11. You can navigate any parking lot.

Everyday at 1:50 P.M., all hell would break loose. After navigating the mess that was the EHS main lot, busy mall parking lots are a joke.

12. Snow Days were the highlight of your existence.

There was nothing worse than thinking you were going to get a snow day but ending up having school anyway. You still feel personally victimized by your Superintendent over this.

13. You are a coffee addict.

Even when you didn’t have time to make it to Starbucks, the Tiger Den made it possible to fuel your addiction.

14. Hawaiian shirts have a special place in your heart.

Wearing Hawaiian gear was a huge right of passage as a graduating senior, and those god-awful prints still make you a little sentimental.

15. You’re kind of a parade pro.

The Homecoming Parade was one of the big highlights of Homecoming Week. You’re all about decorating floats and walking in parades. Plus, who doesn’t love free candy?
