6 Shows To Binge This Summer
Shows to binge-watch during the summer are a blessing. Summer is the time for major bingeing, especially when there’s no homework or anyone to judge you for sitting around a whole day, watching five seasons of a show (no judgment, we did that literally last weekend).
But the main problem is that there’s a whole lot of cool shows out there right now, and choosing what to watch can be a little daunting, to say the least. So here are six shows that you can binge right now, with streaming services listed for easy access!
1. Tuca & Bertie
“BoJack Horseman” fans will love this show. The cartoonist Lisa Hanawalt has taken her animal world to another project, which stars a toucan, Tuca (Tiffany Haddish) and her best friend Bertie (Ali Wong) in a deep story about friendship. There’s also a lot of raunchy humor along the way. Watch this show on Netflix, streaming now!
2. Good Trouble
Although this is a spin-off of the popular teen drama series “The Fosters,” no knowledge of that show is necessary to enjoy this drama. The show is about two sisters — Callie Adams Foster (Maia Mitchell) and Mariana Adams Foster (Cierra Ramirez) — who move to Los Angeles and live in a communal apartment after graduating high school. The show even features some of the old characters for fans of the previous show (including Noah Centineo… just saying). Watch this show on Hulu or Freeform where season 2 will arrive mid-June!
3. The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel
This Amazon original is perfect for those who love raunchy humor and some good, old fashion drama. The show centers around Midge Maisel (Rachel Brosnahan), a ’60s housewife who takes up stand-up comedy after her husband cheats on her. You can find this show on Amazon Prime with season 3 coming up pretty soon!
4. Marvel’s Runaways
Marvel heads into some pretty good teen sci-fi territory with their show “Runaways.” The show focuses on a group of teenagers who were once friends and discover they all have some mysterious powers and a connection to a secret organization of villains… because those villains are their parents. Yikes. Find this show on Netflix US or on iTunes, with season 3 coming out in the fall!
5. Good Omens
Based on the popular novel of the same name by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, this Amazon Prime Original has become a huge knockout. The comedy stars David Tennant as Crowley, a demon of hell, and Michael Sheen as Aziraphale, an angel, who have been friends since (literally) the beginning of time. After a mix-up with the birth of the antichrist, the two try and stop the apocalypse from happening through a lot of weird shenanigans. With its premiere date being just a week ago, watch this show on Amazon Prime, streaming now!
6. The Society
This Netflix Original seems to be pretty run of the mill teen apocalypse type stuff. However, when you look into it, there’s so much more. The show focuses on a group of teens from a small, rich town in Connecticut who go on a field trip and return home to find everyone they know is gone, and their town is surrounded by trees with no way out. So, naturally, they have to build a society. Which is a little more difficult than you think. Watch this show on Netflix, streaming now!
