There is no better feeling than freshly shaven legs. For some people, it’s a luxury to even have time to do it. If you’re anything like me, you do it almost every day.
Leg hair is uncomfortable and it doesn’t feel good underneath clothing. Thats why I started giving them a quick shave each day. It wasn’t until recently that I started using shaving cream. Before it just seemed like a waste of money. I mean, you can just use the body wash and call it a day. However, shaving cream makes a world of a difference.
The endless supply of shaving creams and gels can make finding a good one hard. What is the difference between a gel and a cream? Well, a gel will turn into a foam after you lather it on your skin. Creams often stay the same consistency when applied. Many men choose the gel when shaving their face or a can with the foam in it. This is because they are usually fragrance free and don’t irritate the skin as much.
Shaving creams and gels are the better options vs shampoos or body washes when it comes to shaving your legs or body. Using the existing products in your shower like that bar of soap or tube of body wash might seem like the cheaper option. However, in the long run it won’t be pretty. When shaving your legs, you want the product to condition your legs at the same time. This won’t happen with shampoos. You could experience razor burns, bumpy skin or ingrown hairs, none of which is comfortable.
Shaving with a cream is a much safer choice. It will condition your skin while you’re shaving, leaving you with beautiful and silky skin. When using a cream designated for shaving, it will help your razor glide over the skin smoother. If you don’t, it can tug at the skin resulting in accidentally cutting yourself.
Here are a few tips for when you are ready to shave your legs:
Exfoliate your skin before shaving. It will help to remove any dead skin, giving you a closer and more precise shave. It’s always better to shave your legs when they are wet. Don’t shave them dry or you can risk getting a nasty razor burn, which nobody likes. Shaving them in the shower is a safer option but try to wait until the last minute to shave. The warm water will soften the hair. Try to clean off the razor after every swipe. This will help the blade stay fresh and clean, making the shaving process easier. Another tip is to replace your razor heads often. I know they can be expensive but they can also grow bacteria after a while. This bacteria can spread to your skin so it’s important to make sure they are clean and fresh every so often. And always apply a moisturizer after shaving. This will ensure that your leg will be silky and smooth. Check out my other article on body butters. Those will be perfect for after shaving your legs.
OK, it’s time. If you are in the market for a new shaving cream or gel, here are five you’ll definitely fall in love with. Grab your razors ladies, it’s time to get to shaving!
This stuff smells so good, you won’t want to leave the bathroom. It comes in two scents: vanilla cream and freesias. It makes me wonder why Miranda Priestly didn’t want to see or smell freesias because this lotion smells like a beautiful flower meadow. Not only do both the creams smell delectable, they leave your skin super smooth. It works good with all skin types and it leaves you with visibly beautiful skin.
