13 Scary Delicious Halloween Treats To Make At Home

Halloween and Fall should be synonymous with baking and crafting at home. There’s just something about pumpkin spice being in the air that makes you want to pull out your apron and grab your whisk. Well if this is you here are 13 scary delicious Halloween treats to make at home for you to either enjoy with a movie night or to have at a party.

1. Punch of Boos

This is basically jungle juice with some dark purple food coloring and poured into a cauldron. Remember to only serve this concoction to the adults. Mix up Everclear, Vodka, Some tequila, and your preferred flavoring of Koolaid. Also, this name is cute as it could also sound like “Bunch of Booze” so make sure to add whatever remaining alcohol you have in there to give it the jungle juice effect.

2. Sinner Cupcakes

You’re going to need Halloween themed cupcake liners (preferably), devils food cake mix, cupcake tin, red icing or white buttercream, and red food dye, a piping bag, and edible chocolate devil horns. The edible chocolate devil horns might be harder to find if they don’t have it at the baking section of your grocery store try going to the baking section in the craft store. This sweet treat is devilishly edible and great for those chocolate lovers. It’s also a fun idea for kids and adults alike.

3. Eyeball Rice Krispy Treats

This recipe calls for a cereal box of rice Krispy, food dye in purple and green, candied eyes, and marshmallows. Melt the marshmallows by microwaving them and add in the cereal separate the batch to turn them into two different batches. One batch you’ll add the green dye and the other batch you’ll add the purple dye. Pull them apart and mix them into small mini palmed sized balls and add a candy eye in the center. This recipe is so easy it’s spooky.

4. Mummy Dogs

Add a spooky flair to the party food favorite pigs in a blanket. All you’ll need is a pack of hot dogs (not the mini weiners as they might be too small for this) and a can or two of croissants or biscuits. Wrap the biscuits around as to not cover the whole hot dog to give it that wrapped mummy effect.

5. Graveyard Cake

Put your icing skills to the test with this one. This idea is perfect for those who have a birthday party nearing Halloween. You’re going to need a two or three-layered cake – the flavor of your choice, crushed Oreos to act as the dirt on top, icing for the sides of the cake (your choice of flavor and color) marshmallow ghost peeps, black gel icing, and Milani cookies. After you’re done baking and icing the cake place the crushed Oreos on the top to look like dirt. Cut your Milani cookies in half and write RIP so they act as tombstones and place a few on the top of them along with the ghost peeps.

6. PeanutButter Sandwich Coffins

Finger food! This is the perfect snack-sized treat that isn’t too sweet. The issue with this one is that you might be a bit wasteful with the cutting off the sides of the bread slices but if you’re okay with that then this is a cute idea to try. All you’re going to need to do is make a peanut butter sandwich and cut the sides off to make the shape of the coffin. You can jazz it up by writing RIP on it with a fine tip icing bag and strawberry jam.

7. Bloody Popcorn

This is an amazing idea if you plan on sitting in that day and binge-watching horror movies. It really adds to the spooky factor. You’re going to need popcorn, light corn syrup, red gel food coloring, and liquid flavoring. Mix a little bit of the light corn syrup, red food coloring, and the flavor of your choice and mix together. Taste it to make sure you like the ratio of your fake blood and pour it over your popcorn.

8. Mummy Poppers

Craving something a little less sweet? No fear these jalapeno cream cheese mummy poppers add a nice zing away from the sweet. You can add black olives for the eyes as well and wrap a croissant or biscuit dough around the cream cheese-filled jalapeno and bake to give it the mummy look.

9. 7 layer Spider Dip

Fairly easy to make your favorite 7-layer dip that you usually make as a crowd-pleaser but now use a piping bag or a ziplock bag and cut the tip-off to use as a piping bag for the sour cream and create a spiderweb out of the sour cream and add it on top of the final layer of the dip and add a fake spider on top. I’m sure the adults know not to eat the plastic spider but if kids are eating this dip take the fake spider off as a precaution.

10. Potion Shot

Add a shot of your favorite liquor or spirit into a small potion bottle and hand them out to your adult guest or drink it yourself. It’s a fun way to “adult-ify” your party. If you add a bit of Koolaid or jello powder to the liquor before pouring it into the potion bottle you can label it blood or poison as well. Someones bound to take a photo and compliment you on your creativity with the drinks.

11. Jack-O Lantern Brownies

You’re going to need brownies, orange candy melts, chocolate icing, and marshmallows for this one. It’s a cute way to add “pumpkins” to your treats without having to purchase those big bulky pumpkins if you don’t want to. Also, marshmallows practically go with chocolate so this idea is a deliciously sweet treat.

12. Voodoo Dolls

You probably have made gingerbread men before during Christmas but why not pull out those cookie cutters and make “voodoo” dolls. Add some gel icing around the arms and legs as if they’re stitches and draw X’s for eyes and a sad face. You can make these chocolate or sugar cookies. You could even break off an arm or leg off the cookie and add red gel icing for blood.

13. White Chocolate Ghost Strawberries

Who doesn’t love chocolate strawberries but opt for white chocolate instead of milk chocolate adds a bit of milk chocolate for the eyes and mouth and boom you have chocolate strawberries that look like ghosts. A fairly simple sweet treat.
