5 Tips For Saving Money While Studying Abroad

Considering studying abroad? Let’s make it happen. If you have a passion for traveling across the world, studying abroad is something that you will not regret. It can be overwhelming trying to budget while you are in a beautiful new country, but these are 5 tips to help you save and full enjoy your time while studying abroad!

1. Figure out how much things cost in the place that you are studying in.

You need to consider accommodation, living expenses, travel, student visa and health insurances depend on the price varies per country, program, and institution.

2. Take advantage of scholarships and financial aid.

Some of the scholarships can cover both tuition and living expenses including transportation, homestay, and student visa. When planning and budgeting, it is extremely wise to cast a wide net of applications to as many various grants organizations. A good start is to talk with your university abroad about funds that you need to raise the money for the trip.

3. Keep a finance book with you to keep track.

Remember that your money is a huge part of your life that determines what you can do and where you can go. There is essential to understand where your money is coming from, where it is going to, and how to make sure that the way you manage your money falls in line with the values that matter most to you. Keeping a book, list, or planner with you to keep track of everything is a great way to keep organized and have a handle on your money!

4. Leave spending money for touristy things

Although you want to be frugal while having fun, you have to do some sightseeing when you have a break from school. It is ok to splurge on some touristy outings and travel to different cities and countries while you are in the area. Keep in mind to take these expenses into account, so you are not scrambling for funds toward the end of your overseas stay.

Studying abroad can be a fulfilling experience that leads you to people from around the world and allows you to live in the another beautiful culture for a short period. Budgeting and overseas money management are essential that allow you to enjoy your overseas trip as much as you can. Plan your studying abroad ahead of time so that you can start a savings account for the trip. Leave yourself at at least one semester to save up!
