During these times, things may seem very doom and gloom, but it doesn’t have to be. Here is a list on 10 Romcoms that will bring some light during these times, make you believe in love again.

Leap Year

Leap Year is one of my favorite romantic comedies, it is one that truly never gets old. Leap Year stars Amy Adams and Matthew Goode. After waiting long enough to finally be proposed to, Anna decides that she is going to take things into her own hands. Once she learns about the Irish tradition of women proposing on the leap day, she uses it as her opportunity to propose to her long time boyfriend who is in Ireland for a work trip. Sadly, Anna’s trip to Ireland has a pretty rocky start and after her flights getting cancelled, she hires a local Irish pub owner named Declan to drive her to Dublin. The two go on an adventure together, going through a lot to finally make it to Dublin, but is the life that Anna had back home still one that she wants? This movie is honestly so good, it is heartwarming, and truly makes you hope that you will meet someone like Declan as well.

Set it up

Set it up is a quality Netflix romantic comedy, that brings the definition of “bad boss” to another level. This movie stars Zoey Deutch and Glenn Powell, who play two assistants that are trying to make their way in their work force. After staying in the office super late to catch up on work, the two assistants, Harper and Charlie run into each. Once the two assistants collide, they work together to match their overbearing bosses up so their workload decreases. The only problem is that they more that the two work together the closer that they become. This Netflix film gives viewers hope that love can be found in the workplace.

Love, Rosie

Love, Rosie is a wonderful romantic comedy that emphasizes the beauty of friendship. This movie stars Lily Collins and Sam Clafflin, who play best friends that are completely inseparable. The movie follows the lives of Rosie and Alex as they grow apart from the trials of life. Once one of them finally realizes who they feel about the other, life gets in the way and tears them apart. Love, Rosie gives viewers a beautiful love story that will have you believing in love again.

Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day is fun romantic comedy that is jam packed with celebrities. This movie follows several characters in los angeles as they nagivate their way through Valentine’s Day. I really like this movie because it is one that you can easily relate to. sometimes valentines day can be a complete disaster, but if done right and with the right person then it can be truly wonderful. Some of my favorite actors in this movie include, Anne Hatheway, Jennifer Garner, Patrick Dempsey, and Ashton Kutcher. This is the perfect movie if you are looking for a feel good romantic movie.

Emma

Emma is the latest romantic comedy that is a remake of the classic novel by Jane Austen. This movie is one of my new favorites, a truly wondering retelling of this timeless classic. Emma is played by Anna Taylor Joy, who is always trying to play matchmaker to her closest friends. After always trying to find love for everyone else Emma doesn’t realize that love is right in front of her. For anyone that is fans of any one of Austen’s works this movie is perfect for you. This movie will leave you wanting to find your Mr. Knightley.

The Proposal

For me The Proposal is a classic in terms of romantic comedies, plus it has Ryan Reynolds in it, you can’t go wrong with Reynolds. This movie stars both Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds, Bullock plays the boss at a publishing company whereas Reynolds is her assistant. Bullock is a overbearing boss, but a hard worker whose work is her life, but when her visa is up threatening her position is at the company she figures the only way to stay in the US is to get marriage. Her answer to the problem is clear, make her assistant, Andrew, marry her. the dynamic between Bullock and Reynolds is truly remarkable making a very entertaining movie. The Proposal will leave you believing in love again.

Easy A

This hilarious romantic comedy is a comedic classic that is staring Emma Stone. This movie follows teen Olive that decides to start a business of letting nerds tell others that they have hooked up. Once rumors of this business spread throughout the school Olive’s business blows up, but after a while it ends up spinning out of control. Olive learns a lot about who she wants to be, who she really is and which guys are the good ones. This movie is an instant classic, teaching us that not all guys are bad, the good ones are worth it.

27 Dresses is a classic romantic comedy that stars Katherine Heigl and James Marsden. This movie follows Heigl’s character who is a wedding planner that is always a bridesmaid, never the bride. Marsden plays a journalist that is working to make it big and a story on Heigl’s character is what will do it. The two characters together have a fun dynamic that will make you believe that love can be found in ways you least expect.

Sweet Home Alabama

Sweet Home Alabama is a timeless romantic comedy that stars Reese Witherspoon and Josh Lucas who were a couple that had gotten together young. When Witherspoons character gets engaged to her handsome boyfriend (Patrick Dempsey) she soon realizes there is just one problem, she is still married. She must go back to her hometown in Alabama to get a divorce with her husband so she can get marriage. Sadly, getting a divorce is not as easy as she thought it would be, Witherspoon reconnects with her hometown and lingering feelings begin to arise. This movie really highlights the power of first loves and the love of your community.

The Wedding Planner

The Wedding Planner is a wonderful romantic comedy that stars Jennifer Lopez and Matthew McConahey. Lopez stars as a wedding planner that is great at her job, but still has not found a match of her own. Once she meets the handsome doctor played by McConehey the two hit it off and she finally feels like she was found someone to be with. There is only one small problem, he is getting married, and she has to plan the wedding. This movie is truly wonderful, making you believe that real love does conquer all.
