I can’t be the only one who sits and enjoys a whole night or a whole day sitting and watching romantic movies. Especially when you’re single. Where my single girls at?! There’s just something about a good romantic movie that can make you wallow, cry, sit quietly and low key, wish you were in a relationship.
I think there’s something about wanting a love or being in love that every person can relate to and if a romantic movie can make you warm, fuzzy and want a relationship, it has clearly done their job. Here’s my Sunday, well, my every day romantic movies that make me want a relationship.
HEADS UP: May include some spoilers in movies listed!
Whether it’s Christmas, Fall, or Springtime movies.. Hallmark has got you covered! I can’t be the only girl who can sit all day long and watch Hallmark movies one after the other. Yes, it’s full of cheese and predictable as ever and probably won’t happen in real life BUT! No harm in getting lost and hoping every guy or girl can sweep you off your feet, realize they are in love with you and live happily ever after.
Here’s a list of my favourite few: Destination Wedding, Love At Sea, Royal Matchmaker, Ms. Matched, Switched for Christmas.. and the list can go on!!
The Vow NEVER fails to make me cry and break into pieces. Maybe it’s the fact that he’s Channing Tatum and she’s Rachel McAdams, but watching them be in love and sobbing when he decides to let her go.. How can you NOT weep watching him give up the person he loves only later to see how they are meant to be??
Okay, the overall concept of the movie is pretty sad. But already in the first 10 minutes of the movie, I find myself thinking.. “Is this kind of love real? I can’t wait to be in a relationship!” I couldn’t imagine my significant other pass away and then left to deal with that loss let alone still seeing and hearing him and getting letters from him… I’m left thinking, “I wish someone in the future loves me that much!”
Cue Linger by the Cranberries! I can’t be the only one who hears that song and think of this movie. I’ve seen this movie about a million times and each time I cry my eyes out! The concept of the movie is so clever that you start to wish that there was such a remote like that. It even makes me wonder what moments in my life I’d decide to pause or skip or what I didn’t even notice! In the end, Adam Sandler realizes that he has been technically losing all the memories and good times, and even his family.
Quote: “Will you love me in the morning?” “Forever and ever babe”
Based off of one of my favourite books ever; Everyday by David Levithan. It’s about someone/ a spirit/soul which named itself “A”. “A” enters different bodies every day and one day falls in love with a girl and every day “A” finds its way back to the girl. How does that story alone not make you not want to be in a relationship? No matter where “A” goes, it tries to find a way to the person it loves.
BONUS: Here’s some Worthy To Mention Unmentionables
I didn’t want to be cliche with some of the listings but I can’t make a list without including some of these.
I know, I know, how dare I have a list romantic movies and not include the Notebook or A Walk to Remember. But OF COURSE I have to mention anything by Nicolas Sparks!! Highly recommended…. don’t forget your tissue box! Personally my favourites are The Notebook (Obviously!!), Dear John, Safe Haven and A Walk to Remember.
Serendipity means fortunate accident. I can’t be the only one who says Prado whenever I see a terrible knock off! This movie is an oldie but a goody. This makes me believe that after all this time I may have met the person I was destined to be with.
I don’t know if this movie makes my list because of my love for Chad Michael Murray running so deep or the fact that I love everything Hilary Duff.. But this movie on all floors is relatable (in the sense of feeling out of place) because don’t we all wish for a fairy tale ending! This movie makes my heart feel warm and always makes me say “AWW”
