5 Romantic Lines From Books To Share With Your Partner

Books are a goldmine of romantic lines. They convey the pure love that cannot be distracted by visual grandeur. These lines will definitely show your partner how much they mean to you.

1. “I Love you[Name]. I love you more than starlight.”- Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare

Emma Carstairs and Julian Blackthorn barely escaped drowning in the ocean. With barely escaping death, they give in to their feelings and join together in a passionate embrace. As they lay together, Emma thinks to herself, “I love you, Julian Blackthorn. I love you more than starlight.” This quote is beautiful in its simplicity and its profound hidden meaning. Starlight is the original source of light in the universe. The Sun, itself a star, give us with warmth and sustenance. In pronouncing her love of her partner to being superior to loving that which gives us life, she says her love is brighter, stronger, and more passionate than the sun itself. On the other hand, the stars illuminate the night sky, making a beautifully tapestry in the sky and giving us hope while we stare into the eternally dark abyss of the dark and uncaring universe. Loving him much more than the stars signifies her astoundment of his personality. She sees him as much more beautiful than a star filled night sky, created from the primordial essence of the universe, and acknowledge him as much more inspirational figure than bright stars canvassed unto a cold and dead universe. Sharing this line, and the following romantic lines, with your partner will encompass the idea that the entire light in the universe does not compare to them or your affections for them.

2. “As he read, I fell in love the way you fall asleep: slowly, and then all at once.”- The Fault in Our Stars by John Green

When Hazel and Gus meet, they understand their romance is short lived due to their terminal diagnosis. However, the limited amount of time on earth does not lessen their feelings. As they grow closer, neither one truly know when they chose to love each other. Instead, as the quote says, she fell in love slowly and all at once. This line speaks volume concerning the eternities that can be felt in mere moments.Like dream, how they seem to spend time and space, so to does their love. This line conveys that there is no spacial or chronic limit to love, and like how quickly yet slowly they fell in love, so too will that love transcend the time and space that separates the two of you.

3. “There is no pretending . . . I love you, and I will love you until I die, and if there is life after that, I’ll love you then.” City of Glass by Cassandra Clare

Love sometimes hurts and many romantic lines convey this. Still, the more it hurts, the more true it may seem to be. To pretend to not love one can be the worst torture to some, like with Jonathan Herondale. As is the saying, Herondale love with all their hearts. If this seems like you, this quote will definitely get across to your significant other. This quote conveys the immortality of love, even transcending death. Stronger than death, and the force behind life, one’s love makes life worth it and fighting for it even after the end.

4. “I can offer you my life, but it is a short life; I can offer you my heart, though I have no idea how many more beats it shall sustain” – Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare

Love is not always an explosion of fire and passion. Sometimes, life a fire in the fireplace, it is a steady stream of heat and warmth that reminds you of home. As this quote says, no man can live forever, and so that acts taken in the name of love is also limited. However, that does not lessen its importance or passion. Instead, its humility in expressing the limited capabilities of the physical can show how much more one’s love exceeds the physical. As life is unknown in its extent, love is the opposite. Even if life will short, the love given surpasses life itself.

5. “Always” -Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K Rowling

This short line is overused in mainstream media. When Snape mentions his love has been always in him, the quote carries the message of  persistent love. Instead of a proclamation to the world of your love, this quote is best use as in the book: the answer to a question. If your partner ever doubted your love for them, tell them “Always”, and they will now, with just one word, the persistence you and your love posses.

These quotes hold much more meaning when they are understood within the context of their books. Please, read as much as your brain can handle and share the most romantic lines you discover with your friends and the world.
