I tried the best skin tanning brands, so you don’t have to. With spring break in passing and up and coming, tanning is a must-do when attempting to get the perfect beach bod. If you don’t have time to spend days on end laying in the sun, these tanning brands will speed up the process, giving you the tan complexion you want faster. Of course, tanning brands can be sketchy, unreliable, and dangerous to your skin if not chosen well. This is why I tried these 10 skin tanning brands and reviewed them in the list below. Even though everyone’s skin and tanning goals differ, hopefully, this list can give you some guidelines and ideas as to how each product affects the user. The following self-tan lotions were deemed some of the greatest Amazon products by the website The Strategist that specializes in writing about people’s choice items.
This product is a self-tanner and has marvelous reviews on the internet. I was excited to test it out and see if it could live up to the reviews. The Fake Bake Flawless Self Tan Liquid is commonly known for it’s quick to dry application and cleanliness. The product lived up to this standard, to say the least. It did not feel damp or heavy on my skin and did rub off even minutes after applying it. I was happy to find that this relatively inexpensive self-tanner was efficient and easy to use.
Alba Botanica Sunless Tanner Lotion is the poster product for inexpensive self-tanning. Typically purchased at a rate of around $10, the product seems risky and cheap upon the first buy. However, upon multiple uses, the product is worth the price. Many reviews describe the lotion to give off more of a natural glow than dark bronzey tan, however, it truly depends on your personal skin tone. This is a useful product for those with fairer skin and will have a deeper effect after multiple uses.
Having never heard of self-tan towelettes, I was definitely skeptical of the product’s efficiency. Although the towelette cannot entirely transform your skin tone, it can definitely add a bronzey glow to your everyday appearance. If you have been unable to find a product that doesn’t leave you orange and streaky, towelettes are the easiest way to avoid these issues. The application is easy and the results are light but noticeable.
This towelette is less expensive than the prior, and have nearly the same effect. Both are easy to use and give off an extremely natural look, however, if you are looking to get bronze on a budget this product might be better for you.
After hearing all the rave about this St. Tropez bronzing mousse, I was dying to test it out for myself. I was pleasantly surprised when I found most of the positive comments to be true. The product dries extremely quickly and is easy to blend into your skin. Along with this, you can see results almost immediately after application. The only downfall of this mousse is the damp feeling it leaves on your skin until it is completely dried. Luckily due to the speedy dry time, this problem is quickly resolved and I would definitely recommend this product.
This is a sort of dupe to the previous tanning mousse listed above. The St. Moris brand is less expensive, however, it produces similar results. The main difference besides the price tag is that this mousse is known to be slightly darker than the St. Tropez one. Due to this, I would pick between the two based on the fairness of your skin tone, and the level of dark results you are expecting.
This has always been a personal favorite self-tanner of mine and is commonly referenced as “self-tanner for dummies.” This is because it is so easy to use. If you are a first-time self-tanner, this is the product you should try to begin. The results are not extreme and usually take a few days after tanning to truly show. Along with this, the product is light and leaves no streak marks or blobs. Overall this is one of the best inexpensive and easy self-tanners if you are looking for a natural, and even look. Some people even use this as a face moisturizer to give their paler skin tone a glowy appearance.
When first trying out this tanning serum, I was worried that my skin would be left feeling greasy and gross. However, I was excited to find that the product did the exact opposite in fact, leaving my skin moisturized. This Golden Star Beauty product contains hyaluronic acid which can help treat any sores, and marks on your skin. It also helps hydrate the skin and gives the product anti-aging properties that can diminish the appearance of wrinkles. These aspects made me feel as though the serum was safer and healthier to apply to my face than most self-tanning products. The sunless serum gives off a light tan and looks natural.
This product stuck out to me amongst this list due to the organic ingredients used. When I think of sunless self-tanning, I typically think of FAKE tan, but this lotion by Beauty by Earth makes me rethink this statement. The natural elements within the lotion lead to a natural glowing end result.
This is another great option for self-tanning beginners. It is relatively inexpensive and easy to use, as it is applied exactly like sunscreen. In comparison to the Jergen’s tanner, this Sun Bum lotion definitely gives darker results in a shorter amount of time for a similar price.
