Glossier has become every millennial’s skincare dream. Founded in 2014 by Emily Weiss, the brand has dominated Instagram, vanities and bathroom cabinet shelves everywhere. Their wide-spread and cult-like following has brought an era of beauty that celebrates features, enhances the “glow” and champions minimalism over everything. As a Glossier fan myself, I’ve come to swear by some of their products. This is an honest review of Glossier products where I will tell you what is worth buying…and what isn’t.
This has been my go to cleanser for two years now, and I’m on my fourth bottle of the stuff. I’m in love with this product and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a gentle cleanser that also removes makeup effectively. I never knew a cleanser could melt mascara off the way that this does. Milky Jelly has also saved me money because I have no need to buy make-up removing wipes or oils any more. It has soothing ingredients that are always super kind to my skin, and I always look forward to washing my face. Weird, right?
Overall, I love this product. Most of the colors stay in place and don’t crease at all. I have very oily eyelids, and this eye shadow is the first I’ve tried that doesn’t crease – even when I don’t use a primer. The glittery colors makes me feel like I’ve stepped out of the 2000’s but in a good way. It’s so easy to put on, and adds a pop to any makeup look. However, some of the colors stick better than others. Herb and Moon are the ones that give me the most trouble, they never seem to stay on the whole day.
Another Glossier fan favorite, and for a reason. Allure calls it THE product that put Glossier on the map. It has the perfect amount of pigment, holds the brows in place without making them crunchy or too stiff, is super long-lasting and is much easier to use than brow pencils or powders. It comes in three different shades and clear, and is 100 percent worth the hype.
I’ve been trying to find a cream/liquid blush that works for the longest time. For some reason, they all like to find one patch of skin to stick to and then blend absolutely nowhere else. However, Cloud Paint somehow manages to blend into my skin and stay throughout the entire day. It doesn’t dry too quickly, so it doesn’t leave behind blotches or patches. This stuff also lasts FOREVER. I only need a little bit on my cheeks for noticeable pigment. The colors (two more were just added this week!) add just the right amount of natural flush.
My mom actually got on this bandwagon before I did, and using hers when I was home convinced me to buy my own. It leaves more of a glowy finish than a glittery one, which I love, and feels amazing on your face. When was the last time you used a highlighter that FELT amazing? It is super easy to apply thanks to its solid, stick form, and is easy to blend with your fingers. Every time I wear this product I get compliments on it, it’s that good. The colors are also very versatile with different skin tones. One thing I will note, that since it has a moisturizing center, it is not the best product to apply if you have just used a lot of foundation or powder. It might move your base around a little.
I’ve recently fallen out of love for this product, because I felt as though it was starting to clog my pores. During the winter, it was my go-to moisturizer and looked incredible under makeup. Since I have oily skin, it’s hard to find the right thick moisturizer that doesn’t make me break out. I would recommend this as one of the best Glossier products for those who have normal to dry skin.
I bought this immediately following my fall-out with Priming Moisturizer Rich. It has amazing reviews, like all Glossier products, but I hated it. It made my skin burn, and I wouldn’t describe my skin as sensitive. I think this product has been my biggest Glossier products disappointment.
I like Glossier’s serums. They feel nice on the skin, but I’m not positive they do a lot. They aren’t life changing. I like Super Pure the best. If you’re looking for a serum to get rid of your itty bitty breakouts or those tiny bumps you just can never seem to get rid of, Super Pure is perfect for that. It isn’t great for dealing with heavy acne or severe pimples. Super Bounce is just hyaluronic acid, which is already in a lot of the moisturizers I use. Super Glow is not the best vitamin C serum out there, but will get most of the job done. TruSkin Naturals has a better one on Amazon.
The perfect everyday mascara that is your lashes but better. It doesn’t smudge, clump and is very easy to remove since it’s water-resistant, not water-proof. My lashes are naturally curled, but this makes them pop up even more. I also just love a good fiber mascara. I will say that I prefer my lashes to look a little more glam than this mascara allows for, so I’m more likely to reach for my Buxom Lash Mascara or Better Than Sex.
