LSU’s parents weekend is right around the corner, from October 14th-October 16th. Stuck trying to think of where to take them? Don’t worry! Baton Rouge offers a wide variety of restaurants to eat at, but these places can be difficult to locate. Here are 5 restaurants to take your parents to during family weekend at LSU!
Start off your morning with a egg-cellent breakfast! Another Broken Egg Café has an array of egg-themed dishes, including “egg-straordinary” omelettes, crabcakes cavallo, and benedict oscar . Not into eggs? Then check out their other dishes, such as biscuits and gravy, or sweet potato pancakes. Look for this restaurant at 9655 Perkins Rd, Baton Rouge, LA 70810.
Located at 2819 Highland Rd, Baton Rouge, LA 70802, If you’re in south Louisiana, you need to eat at a seafood restaurant at one point during your trip. University Seafood has a variety of mouth-watering selections. Dishes can include po’boys, chicken, seafood, and catfish. Seafood dishes here have either popcorn shrimp or butterfly shrimp. If you’re looking for lunch near LSU, then this might be the place for you.
Need a snack break during your hot, humid weekend with your family? Then stop by LSU AgCenter’s own dairy store! Located at the corner of South Stadium Drive and Tower Drive on the LSU campus, this dairy store is the perfect place to get a scoop (or more) of icecream! In addition to icecream, your parents can also bring home frozen meats. Just make sure to stop by on a weekday, because they’re closed on Saturdays and Sundays.
Surely you’ve made you’re way to the Mall of Louisiana. If you’re near the area, you may want to head on over to 10000 Perkins Rowe – Suite 160, Baton Rouge, LA. While you shop in the Perkins Rowe shopping center, you can stop by Voodoo BBQ to enjoy some delicious, Louisiana-style barbecue. Voodoo BBQ has classic barbecue dishes, as well as dishes with a Cajun spin—spicy Cajun sausage, fried shrimp po’boy, quarter Cajun chicken, and more. If you’re in the area looking for dinner, then check out Voodoo BBQ.
If you’re in the mood for a good beignet for dessert, but you don’t have time to travel all the way to New Orleans, then Coffee Call is the place for you. Their beignets are fried right in front of you. In addition to normal beignets, they also offer “cafe au lait” and “beignet fingers.” You can find them at Village Square Shopping Center, 3132 College Dr, Baton Rouge, LA 70808. If you want a better reference point, Coffee Call is located in the same parking lot as the Walmart on College Drive you and your parents will be grocery shopping at. Definitely take your parents here after dinner during family weekend at LSU.
