Oh, the wonders of the Santa Clarita Valley, (coined Awesome-town by the California locals). Lots of wild fires, an earthquake here and there, but the restaurants here are the hidden gems of Southern California. Whether you’re passing by on your way to the beach, or heading to LA, one thing you can’t miss (besides Six Flags Magic Mountain) is the food! Here are just 10 restaurants in Santa Clarita Valley you don’t want to miss.
All You Can Eat Sushi!! Need I say more? Kyoto Sushi, located right in the middle of Santa Clarita, is home to the freshest ingredients and the tastiest sushi in SCV. You’ll have a satisfied stomach, and a happy wallet as you leave. Whether you’re feeling some teriyaki chicken from the grill, or the spiciest tuna known to man, Kyoto has it, all for their affordable AYCE price! If you’re near LA, it’s worth a drive into Awesome-town.
Stone Fire Grille, located off of Cinema Drive, is home to the best tri tip and lemon grilled chicken around. The comfortable, family oriented atmosphere makes it a fun and lively place to dine. They grill and smoke every piece of meat to order, and the results are well worth the wait. They really emphasize quality over quantity, and you can taste it in every bite.
Brunch, aka the most Instagramable meal of the day. The Tea Gardens in Valencia truly capture the aesthetic that millennials look for. Their famous teapots and finger foods are not only adorable to look at, but they’re also delicious! A customer favorite is the breakfast sampler, which comes perfectly placed on an elegant plated tower. The sampler has a little bit of everything, from scones to Danishes, making everyone in your party happy.
Almost every Mexican restaurant that is up and coming has picked up the Taco Tuesday tradition, but Solita Tacos at the Westfield Valencia Mall has got to be one of the best. With affordable and delicious tacos every Tuesday, you’ll want to get there right when dinner starts, or you’ll be waiting for a table! Pair your tacos with their incredible salsa bar, and you’ll be one of their many happy customers.
If you’re looking for the cheesiest, most amazing pizza in town, Toppers Pizza is the place to go. Not only is the food worth the visit, but the ambiance is something unique to Toppers. Located in an old, industrial building in the heart of town, the space is large and open which is inviting to many. Bring your kids to the arcade, and stay for the delicious pizza pies.
Gogi House, located off of Bouquet Canyon Road, is the classic Korean Barbecue restaurant where you get to cook your own meals exactly how you like it. The menu consists of four options, depending on how large your party is. They bring you your meats, veggies and sides, and instruct you on how to use the grilles built into the tables. If you went out to NOT cook, they also have the option of ordering traditionally from their menu of ethnic dishes that you’ll have to try to know just how tasty they are.
Hook Burger, also near Westfield Valencia Mall, is an all-American burger studio that lets you customize your meal to the extreme (if you want just 4 sesame seeds, they’ll make it happen). With the option to make your burger just how you like it, you truly get a personal experience, and your burger tastes perfect as it’s customized to your taste buds.
One thing that many restaurants lack is customer service, but Mama’s Table off of Cinema Drive is the epitome of a five-star staff. From the moment you’re seated, you feel at home. The food is up to par with their service as well, serving soups and sandwiches that taste just like your mom’s, which is their goal. You feel welcomed from the very beginning and your heart (and stomach) leaves full. One of the best restaurants in Santa Clarita Valley.
The deliciousness of fresh sushi and tempura, all wrapped up in a burrito. There’s not much to say about this unique, but incredibly addicting, restaurant in Valencia. Temakitto is popular, affordable and will keep you coming back.
Umaichi Ramen and Noodles is located just outside of Valenica, in Saugus, California. This restaurant serves ramen and pho noodles, a traditional Vietnamese dish. With a very personalized menu where you can add or remove any ingredients, every noodle bowl is perfect to every customer’s liking. It’s definitely worth a try!
