7 Recycled DIY Earth Day Ideas To Celebrate Our Planet

Earth day is a day in April that helps us celebrate how beautiful our planet is.  I love finding art projects and household projects that use projects that might get thrown away or recycled.   There are so many ideas out there, so here are a few DIY earth day ideas to use recycled items in other ways to help Celebrate and keep our planet clean.

1.) Up-Cycled Twig Decor

One of my favorite DIY earth day idea is Twig Art Decor.  This is easy to do. Whether you collect them from around your backyard, or neighborhood on your daily walk, twigs are an easy thing to use for Decor.  Normally twigs will find the trash or fire pit, but keep some aside for your table. They are easy to switch out each season, if you want to paint and decorated them via the holiday or season as it’s approaching.  And you don’t have to use any fancy patterns or details. Like this picture below, they chose a basic color that would be perfect for spring.

2.) DIY Bird Feeder

A DIY Earth day idea can be a Bird feeder  and it’s helpful too.  Whether you use a tin can or milk carton, it is easy to decorate and cut to shape and simply fill with bird feed.  Add a color and lovely project to your garden.

3.) Kitchen DIY

DIY is the name of the game.  One DIY earth day idea is to reuse milk cartons or even coffee cream containers  is storage in the kitchen. ( Coffee creamers are usually plastic and harder to recycle).   Once you have used one, rinse it out and let it dry.  Then you can decorate it or paint and it use it for sugars and spices. It can be a clean cut way to organize your kitchen and re-use a cardboard or plastic ware.

4.) Cereal Boxes

Cereal boxes are any easy way to make new items.  Whether it is a folder, pencil case, notebooks etc.  It is a sturdy cardboard that will help you organize your school items.  If you flip them inside out you can decorate the plain side to your liking OR you can go totally retro and make a LIFE cereal folder, or Lucky Charms pencil case.  The best part about these specific DIY Earth day ideas are these ones are still able to be recycled once you are done with them.

5.) Pencil case

Speaking of Pencil Cases, while cardboard is something that can be recycled, plastic is a little harder.  Next time you buy a bottled soda, keep the bottle for some cool projects. Whether you make a DIY Pencil case, or button sorter Plastic soda bottles can easily be transformed into a useful case with a little hot glue and a zipper.  How fun are these?

6.) Up-Cycle Old Jeans

I have been using old Jeans since the early 90’s, but I love these Ideas.  Pick an old pair of jeans that don’t fit anymore, or that re to worn or ripped to wear and yo can turn it into a Denim Purse, or a fun Denim apron for cooking, crafting or wood working.  Use those back pockets to their potential!! Helping make Earth Day by leaving less fabric in the junkyards and trash cans.  This DIY Earth day idea has so many purposes!

7.) DIY Paper Coasters

This DIY Earth day idea can be made with any old paper such as old notebooks, junk mail and ads that you get each week or that pile of old magazine.  Just roll them up and twist them into a spiral to use as a coaster. What a fun project and a way to reuse old paper products.

Earth Day can be a great way to teach and share awesome ideas to help keep our planet clean.  which of these recycled  DIY Earth Day ideas are right fir you?  Share them with your friends.  Why not throw yourself a Earth Day party?
