Rugby is a fun and hardcore sport that is totally RECOMMENDED to join. You HAVE to join the women’s rugby team at Hofstra University.

The team motivates

The best part about coming to practice on a day you just don’t feel like doing anything, is that your team is able to see that and they motivate you! Even on “non-practice” days, your teammates are always there to motivate you and keep you going.

The team accepts everyone

There’s no certain “guidelines” to play rugby other than be the best YOU can be and NEVER GIVE UP. Everyone is welcomed, and everyone is accepted.

Rugby on your resume, especially as a woman, will pop out

I can’t tell you how many times people say, “you play rugby? Wow!” It looks wicked awesome on your resume and really sticks out! Many employers want to see DIVERSITY on your resume!

The team itself is a family

You need help studying, or just need a friend to talk to, you have a family on and off the rugby pitch. You can count on us.

There’s no quitting

There’s no such thing as quitting on the rugby field. If you feel like you’re not good enough and you are embarrassed, tell someone because I can assure you that they will assure you that you have this and you’re going to get it!

You’re always good enough

There are several positions and everyone is needed, wanted and good enough. Never look down on yourself because after all, practice makes perfect!
