This generation is THE WORST at dating. Tinder, Bumble, and many other dating apps are the sole components of a relationship nowadays. And I wouldn’t even call them relationships, they’re like one-night-stands plus a month before they ghost you. Guys expect nudes waiting in their Snapchat all the time and women don’t know what loyalty is anymore.
With all that being said, here’s why staying SINGLE in this generation is a good (!GREAT!) idea. Or at least wait until guys and women grow the f**k up before pursuing something.
You’ll be able to get your mindset and mental health in order so that life is crazy happy for you. You don’t have to rely on a relationship to make all your problems go away and you can focus on your goals and dreams instead of waiting for Chad* to text back.
I know you want to be the best version of yourself, so get yourself mentally to that point in your life before pursuing a meaningless (or real!) “relationship” that may drain you. You don’t want to have to rely on the other person to make you happy when they can’t even be happy themselves.
Instead of making plans for two people, make your own plans. Do what YOU want to do instead of what Ben* from Tinder wants. Travel to the place you’ve always wanted to go. Spend time with your friends and family. Staying single allows you to have your freedom without any strings attached. AND you might just have the time of your life finding out what you really like to do.
We’ve all dealt with people wasting our time, so staying single will cut all of that time wasted out. You’ll have so much more free time to better your life by yourself than dealing with Britney* wasting your time over and over again. Who knows? Maybe you’ll meet someone at the gym or in a coffee shop with the same attitude as you (insert shrugging emoji).
Staying single is the best way to avoid having drama and unnecessary BS raid your life. Sure you’ll still experience that through your friends and family, but without the added BS of a toxic “relationship” in this generation (or having to swipe forever on Tinder and Bumble), just avoid it by choosing YOU. Cut out all of the thirsty people from your life and start new. See? No more BS.
Like anyone, we all want to succeed and have a good career that will carry us through life. But if you’re focusing on Mark* (who doesn’t know how to treat a woman and is talking to many of them at a time), it will get in the way of you reaching your success. You’re just going to be let down and your success will be pushed back. Staying single will allow you to work hard at what you want to get out of your career without any distractions.
