10 Reasons Why Moms Make the Best Ride Or Die

I don’t know about you guys but being away from my mom is the hardest part about college. She is my absolute best friend, and living hours away from her is a struggle, but even though we are miles apart my mom and I have gotten closer and closer the older I get. Moms are angels on earth. They brought you into life and teach you how to live it, all while being the best friends you could ever ask for. The reasons why are endless, but here are just 10 reasons why moms make the best ride or die.

1. They are always only one call away.

I call my mom an average of about 3 times everyday. Not to talk about anything specific, I just call her to call her, even if it’s to tell her I had a bowl of cereal for breakfast. Its good just to hear her voice.

2. They seem to have extremely accurate intuitions about boys and friends.

Mama always knows best. Remember that. They know who of your friends are true friends, and which boys are going to break your heart. Again…mama always knows best. But the awesome thing about this, is that she’ll know he’s the one maybe even before you do.

3. They are there when you succeed, but more importantly they are there when you fail.

The first and only thing I want to do when I am sad or failed at something is cry in my moms arms, because no matter what you fail at she will support you and be a shoulder to cry on.

4. They formed you into the person you are today.

My mom is the strongest person I know, and thanks to her I am incredibly strong as well. She taught me how to keep my chin up and move on in life. Without my mom as my ride or die I would not be half the person I am today.

5. They understand your humor.

I personally have a very dry sense of humor, and tend to be extremely sarcastic. So it is a good thing that my mom is the same way. She understands my humor and makes me feel good about my “jokes” even when they may not be what you consider funny.

6. They are always down for a girls night.

Having a mom automatically guarantees spa and movie nights. I hardly have to get the words out of my mouth before my mom agrees to have a night in with me. Moms make the best ride or die, she is always there for you.

7. They will be completely honest with you.

Although sometimes honesty hurts, I’d much rather have someone inform me that blonde hair does not look good on me before I dye my whole head and spend $200.

8. They always know when you’re sad.

We have all said “nothing” when someone has asked us what wrong, even when something is wrong! And to no surprise your mom knows. She knows something is wrong even when you think you had hidden it completely.

9. They are some damn good cooks.

Nothing beats going home for Christmas break and having moms home cooked meals for a month straight. Especially when you’ve been eating food from the dining center at school.

10. Lastly…they are your mom and they will ALWAYS  love you.

Some people in today’s world may say they love you, but in the end they might hurt you. A bonus about having your mom as your best friend is always having someone telling you they love you, no matter what.

My mom is my absolute best friend and there is no way I’d rather have it be. Moms make the best ride or die, and I am incredibly thankful for that. Now go call your mom and thank her for being the superhero she is.
