If you think about it, picking your college is like figuring out where the first four years of the rest of your life is going to start. The goal of college is to discover the best version of yourself while achieving lifetime goals. College is a time you will never forget~cliche, I know..BUT its true! First you need to love where you go with things that interest you. Making sure all your goals while staying happy is important in your college of choice. Here are five reasons why I feel that I thrive at The University of Tampa.
Sunny and 75. Have you ever just failed a test and you walked outside to a miserable day? No fear. At UT the sunshine will you keep you positive! Its hard to stay unmotivated when even the sky is smiling down at you. And of course, the school pool is open everyday to relax at after class…or even when you just fail at life for the day.
The location of the school is in the heart of Tampa. It is the perfect spin of suburban girl meets city girl or vice versa. The city is not overwhelming at all, there are plenty of instagramable spots to hang at from coffee shops to acai places. Need a new swim suit? Need a new outfit for that interview? There are not one, but three malls to 15 minutes away. And don’t forget the beach! St. Pete is only 30 minutes away where Caddy’s is a popular place students like to hang at! Its hard to be bored when you can shop, eat, and hang in any preference. Check out other awesome locations down below!

UT is in a city which allows so many opportunities right at your fingertips! The University is compatible with multiple job search websites too. Websites like, Indeed and Handshake allow you to upload your resume and send you links to possible internships of your interest. Depending on your major you can also add yourself to a Facebook page where a professor will post internship opportunities daily that you are encouraged to apply for. Even the school’s weekly news letter post dates for resume and career days where professors help critique your resume and give tips on scoring that interview. If that doesn’t make you confident then you can even go to the Career Services which can lead you back on the right path with picking a major and prepping the rest of your life.
Everyone at this school has a passion. Going to a large university can be over-whelming and hard to catch your wave. In-class, the ratio of students to teacher is 17 to 1. The teachers will know you on a first name basis making it a comfortable learning zone. It might sound childish that they still do ice breakers on the first day but it helps to make friends and learn the vibe of the teacher. And if you ever need extra help there are writing and speaking centers that will assist you.
Being at a diverse community is what makes UT such a special community. There are students from all 50 states on-top of 140 countries. Everyone is happy is to be here with a welcoming heart. There are many clubs to joins or sports to try out for. Its a guarantee to find a place where you belong. Sometimes its hard to figure out where you belong but at UT it is more than likely you find someone you can bond with. You never know where your heart can go if you don’t explore all your options.
The University of Tampa is one of the best decisions I have ever made. It is a great feeling to go to a school where you feel like you are wanted and can thrive in. Hope this convinced you!
