Emerson College has been my dream school for as long as I can remember. There are so many reasons why I decided to come here and it’s hard to narrow it down. I have met some lifelong friends here at Emerson and I have started to build a career that I never thought possible.
One of the reasons why I thought about coming to Emerson is because my mom went to graduate school at Emerson. My mom has always inspired me when it came to writing stories and she had always praised Emerson and their writing classes. I knew that if I came to Emerson I would be able to dabble in writing while also focusing on my major.
I have always been interested in the entertainment industry and when I found out that Emerson focused on that specifically I knew that I had to visit. When I did research and saw all the classes I could take that interested me I was overjoyed.
I have never liked big cities because they always overwhelmed me. However, when I stepped foot onto the sidewalk here I knew that this city could become a home for me. Especially because I could walk so many places on my own and always find a new place to adventure to.
When I was deciding on whether or not to go to Emerson a big factor of that decision was if I thought that I could get a job after college. I wanted to go to the LA Program and I wanted to see if it was possible for me to get an internship that I was interested in. Come to find out there is a possibility I could work for the several TV stations that would be a dream come true.
The moment I stepped out of the car to visit the school I knew that I would love it here. I felt so welcomed by the Emerson College community and I felt like I had finally found people that were just like me.
