As the weeks are flying by this semester, try and take a step back and appreciate the fall season. The weather is just right and you can finally drink pumpkin spice lattes guilt free. Keep reading for 10 reasons to love fall at University of the Pacific!
After living in the extreme heat (90 and above) for the first month or two of school, it’s nice to know that once fall hits, the weather is going to change. The air gets chiller and you can stand outsider longer without feeling uncomfortable and sweaty.
A change in seasons also means a change in your wardrobe. It’s time to bring out those over sized sweaters, knitted hats, colorful scarves, and cute boots!
This is a season perfect for those hot seasonal pumpkin spice drinks and my personal favorite, hot chocolate (with cinnamon!). Nothing is better than walking to class or sitting outside in the cool weather drinking a warm spiced drink.
The brick walkway on the south side of campus is lined with trees and when fall comes, so do all the red, orange and yellows. You get to walk straight through a beautiful scenery before attending class.
Once fall break hits, you know it’s only a matter of time before Thanksgiving break arrives and soon after, winter break!
One of the greatest events of the year, UOP’s homecoming is a weekend event open to all. Food trucks, music, games, it’s a time for fun with friends and family. There are several events going on in just a few days! So it wouldn’t hurt to give a few hours of your studying time to see what kind of events are going on.
Another great event during Homecoming that you don’t want to miss! It’s a combination of two of the most popular events: LipSync battle with the Pacific athletes and Midnight Mania. It’s an event where everyone can let out their inner tiger and ROAR together as one huge tiger family.
Our campus is already well known for having beautiful scenery, but fall at University of the Pacific is even better! So bring out your camera and take some gorgeous pictures of the campus or with your friends and family
This day is a day where no one will question what you wear or how much candy you’ll eat. It’s also fun to dress up with your friends and/or look at all the different costumes students are wearing on campus.
And speaking of Halloween, one of my favorite events of the year is seeing all the kids dressed up as their favorite character and coming onto campus to get their trick-or-treat candy. Their smiling faces and laughter among their family and friends can seriously make anyone’s day!
