10 Reasons To Love Fall At The University Of Arkansas

Au revoir swimsuits! Bonjour sweaters! Yes, ladies and gentlemen, it’s officially that time of year where it’s a hunt to find the perfect seasonal cuddle buddy for us on these cold nights and the time to stock up on all the sweaters and pumpkin spice lattes our heart could desire. It’s fall! And with fall comes all the reasons to love the University of Arkansas campus more than you did this summer. Keep reading for 10 reasons to love fall at The University of Arkansas!

1. Old Main is absolutely gorgeous.

Of course the number one attraction during fall at The University of Arkansas is going to be our beloved and historic building Old Main. Even though there is construction underway, it is one of the most beautiful sights to see dressed up in brown and orange leaves.

2. There’s no such thing as walking in the cold!

Yes, I know it’s fall and walking while windy is really refreshing. Well, there is a thing as too much wind. But fret not because The University of Arkansas blessed us with the UA Transit Bus System where getting knocked down by the wind on your 10-mile trek to class is just a figment of our imagination. We are truly blessed.

3. It’s finally football season!

It’s the time of the year where we get our Razorback winter coats and hoodies from the back of our closets. Where we tailgate and get wasted at our seven home games this year. Where school spirit is at its all-time high as we lose our voices when we CALL THOSE HOGS!! It’s football season ladies and gentes, and I have to say, our football team is looking pretty stacked this season.

4. Freshmen 15? Don’t worry it’s fall!

So it’s your freshman year and you’ve already enjoyed the on campus Chick-Fil-A and Flying Burrito that’s at your service and that dreaded freshmen 15 has started creeping up on you. Don’t fear because Fall is the season for you. Short dresses? Not without tights. Crop tops? Not in this weather. Jorts? Thing of the past. Hide the extra weight in gallons of sweaters and many hoodies! This is your season to shine!!! This season even gives you time to lose the weight before anyone even realizes you gained it. You’re welcome.

5. Enjoy the peace and quiet at the Chi Omega Greek Theatre.

If your more of a stand back and smell the roses kind of person. Then the Chi Omega Greek Theatre is the place for you. Available unless reserved for events, this is the perfect place to be to just sit and enjoy all the beautiful scenery our great campus has to offer. Depending on where you sit you can enjoy the cool breeze while looking down Dickson or enjoy the breeze while watching the leaves fall by Slims. It’s the perfect destination to reflect and enjoy.

6. Dickson Street is picture perfect.

Although Dickson Street isn’t technically a part of our great campus, it runs up it and that’s good enough to count! Dickson street in the fall has to be one of the most enchanting visuals I’ve ever had the pleasure of seeing. Especially in the morning. The streets riddled with leaves and the best places to eat, what more can you ask for? You can eat at Waffle House while simultaneously watching the leaves fall leaving you peaceful.

7. Lumber jacks? Please sign me up twice!

Fall is the time where god has blessed us with No Shave November. Whoever came up with this is a genius because there’s nothing hotter than a guy with long hair and a full beard and mustache combo. It’s truly a blessing. Oh and us girls can go with unshaved legs for 6 months and no one will notice.

8. Cuffing season is now in session.

The colder it gets, the colder you get and what’s the only way to solve this? Well, a cuddle buddy of course. Whether it’s a friends with benefits, boyfriend, or even just a good friend who you love dearly. When there’s cuddling, there’s cuffing. If the cuddling is that good, you might get a title.

9. Try out for that club you always liked!

Fall at The University of Arkansas is prime time to join whatever club or intramural sport your heart desires. All the clubs and committees and even summer camps are coming out begging for you to join them. So join!!

10. If you love pumpkin… ’nuff said.

Pumpkin in drinks, pumpkin in house, pumpkin in scent JUST PUMPKIN!! You can go to the local Starbucks on campus and get you a delicious pumpkin spice latte. Pumpkins all over your dorms because its Halloween the whole month of October. Pumpkin everywhere.
