5 Reasons I’m Excited To Start At ASU

Choosing a college can be stressful, and it took me a long time to pick one. I went back and forth between about four different colleges, but once I did my research on ASU, picking it seemed like a no-brainer. Here are five reasons why I’m super excited to start at Arizona State!

1. ASU’s Campus Layout.

The ASU campus lacks definitive borders. You don’t have to go through any gates or checkpoints to get in. I love that it gives the feel of living in a small city, rather than on a college campus. You’ll feel less held-in and more like you’re truly making it through your first year of adult life without so much supervision. With so many places to explore, campus lines are the last thing you’ll want holding you back!

2. Roommates And Suitemates.

Through Devil2Devil, you have the ability to interact with other Sun Devils long before you start classes with them. I’ve absolutely loved getting to talk to the girls I’ll be living with, whether it’s about dorm decorating or what places we like to eat at. The social media site makes meeting friends and choosing roommates so much easier. You’ll be able to go into the semester already knowing and being close to the other girls you’ll be living with!

3. Living In Manzanita Hall.

The newly-renovated Manzanita Hall isn’t just a Liberal Arts dorm building. It’s home to a fitness center, the only “all-you-care-to-eat” dining hall, and it’s right across the street from the stadium and arena, so you’ll never have to miss any of the sporting events! The building also offers study rooms, a computer lab, laundry rooms, and full community kitchens. This means that both your academic needs and your everyday needs will always be met here in Manzy, and I can’t wait to be there.

4. Going To All The Sporting Events.

Football games? I’m there. Basketball games? Count me in. Baseball games? You already know the answer! Getting involved is so important in college, and what’s a more fun way to do it than watching your fellow Sun Devils play the sports they’re passionate about? You’ll love being in the crowd, swept up in all the excitement and energy. Cheer your heart out and hold your pitchforks high!

5. Getting Innovative And Applying It.

Ranked #1 for innovation in the country, ASU is the perfect college to turn your smarts into real-life results! With a student-faculty ration of 23:1 and nearly half of the classes having 20 students or less, students always have help and guidance readily available. As the ASU President Michael Crow shared, “We do things differently, and we constantly try new approaches.” The first time I visited ASU for a campus tour, the guides told us that everything on the campus is constantly changing to keep up with advancements in the world. From adding majors to renovating buildings, everything is constantly up-to-date, and I’m looking forward to the opportunity to continuously move forward that ASU offers.
