15 Reasons I Decided To Go To UF

Senior year is hard, but deciding on a college is even harder. Choosing to go to the University of Florida was one of the most exciting things I have done but also one of the scariest. Here are the 15 reasons I decided to go to UF!

1. The Campus

Touring the campus last year was overwhelming, but I knew from when I arrived that I could see myself going there. The student life was active all around campus, an environment I knew I wanted to be in.

2. The Academic Value

There is no question that UF is regarded as the best public university in Florida for its academics. I knew I would be challenged in my classes to better prepare me for the future.

3. A “Big School”

This doesn’t attract everyone, but I loved the idea that I would be going to school with so many other students. The campus is always alive and there is always new people to meet.

4. School Pride

Growing up, I have always known many gator alum and the pride they carry for their school through adulthood is a feeling I want to be able to experience.

5. Tuition

College is expensive! Living in Florida all my life, in-state tuition was always the way to go. The cost made UF an even better choice.

6. Football Games

In a big school like Florida, football games are a part of the culture. This also comes with the big school feel and it’s a great feeling to be a part of the student section.

7. Not Just The Games, But The Gamedays

I am excited to be a part of the life of UF and tailgating before the games and being able to meet new people who are just as spirited.

8. Tons Of Opportunities

There are so many different paths you can pursue at UF, and the opportunities are endless for whatever you choose.

9. Perfect Distance from Home

Although I have always wanted to go far from home, UF is just the right distance. It is far enough where I’m not close to home but close enough where I could come home if I got really sick.

10. Sports Rivalries

It’s exciting to be involved in competition, especially with your friends. I know I will enjoy the UF v. FSU game, seeing all my friends who took the other path and going to the UF v. Tennessee game, the other big rival.

11. Social Life

This is a big one. In a school like Florida, there are so many opportunities and ways to make new friends and there is so much to do and always something fun going on on campus.

12. Sororities/ Rushing

One of the scarier aspects of college is rushing a sorority, but I know what will follow is finding a family of girls who I will gain long-lasting friendships with from joining my sorority.

13. Hearing From Current Students

The passion and love for their school is contagious and it definitely attracted me to UF.

14. The Awesome Mascot

Who doesn’t love Albert the Alligator?

15. Blue And Orange

The BEST colors to wear on a gameday. #GoGators
