10 Reasons College In SoCal Is The Best Place To Learn

College in SoCal is one of the best experiences you can have. It’s a great place to learn because the weather is always great, the beach is nearby and there is always something to do. We’ve compiled a list of reasons why college in SoCal is the best and we hope you will agree.

1. It rarely rains

You don’t really have to worry about owning an umbrella in Southern California, as it hardly rains here. Sure, it does sometimes, but not very often compared to other places in the U.S. Most of the time, you can walk to class without getting rained on, which is nice.

2. It’s warm and sunny almost year round

Yeah, it does get a bit chilly in the winter, but it’s not unbearable. Compared to other states, we definitely have some of the warmest winters around. Want to go to the beach in January? It’s totally acceptable here. You can chill on campus outdoors during any season without freezing your butt off.

3. The beach isn’t too far away

Need a study break? No problem. The beach isn’t too far and it’s a great place to unwind and let go of the stress that builds during the semester. With the combination of the great weather in SoCal and the beach being nearby, who wouldn’t want to come to college here? College in SoCal is definitely the best place to learn.

4. So many museums!

SoCal is the best place to learn in college because of all of the museums in the area. There’s The Broad, The Getty and LACMA, just to name a few. These are especially helpful if you are an art student or taking an art class for a general education requirement.

5. So many concerts

Los Angeles is the second biggest city in the United States. The great thing about that is, most major tours make stops here. You often don’t have to worry about traveling a long way for a good show, because they are usually right here in town. They are a great way to let go and have fun in between classes and homework!

6. Theme parks!

What’s work without a little play? After you are done with classes for the day or on the weekends you can hit up Universal Studios, Six Flags, Disneyland or Knott’s Berry Farm. Oh, and there’s SeaWorld, too. SoCal is a great place to learn in college because there’s tons of fun amusement parks around to let off a little steam when the mood strikes.

7. The amazing food

Southern California is home to so many local restaurants and delicious food, you won’t know where to begin. From Mexican to Chinese, we’ve got a wide selection of cuisines to choose from. Whenever you want to grab lunch or dinner with friends and classmates, you will never run out of places to try!

8. Workout options

There are plenty of great workout spots in Southern California to work off the freshmen 15. There are several different running and hiking trails all over the city, you can take your pick! For those who love the beach, try running the trail near the Santa Monica Pier. The views will not disappoint!

9. Job opportunities

SoCal has tons of job opportunities. It’s such a huge city, companies are hiring all over. It shouldn’t be difficult to find a job after college, which makes SoCal a great place to learn.

10. It’s never boring

SoCal is a great place to learn in college because it is never boring. There is always something to do, whether you want to spend a night out with friends or go on a weekend adventure.
