Your Ultimate Ranking Of The Best Trail Mix For Hiking

If it is summertime, you can probably find me hiking on this trail or that, and if I am going for anything more than a quick hour trip there is bound to be trail mix in my pack. That being so, I have tried every type and brand of trail mix out there, even made some of my own. Here are my absolute favorites that should definitely be in your bag next time your head out into the woods. This is the ultimate ranking of the best trail mix for hiking!

Wild Roots Coastal Berry Blend

This one is for all you berry lovers. It is the perfect sweet berry blend, with yogurt chips, cranberries, and wild berries… and of course nuts. This is definitely more of a vanilla berry taste, so if you are a chocolate lover this might not be the one for you.

Trader Joe’s Omega Trek Mix

If you are looking for trail fuel, this is the mix for you. It is chalk full of healthy nuts, seeds, and dried cranberries. This mix is much more about salty fuel than satisfying a sweet tooth, but don’t let that fool you into thinking this mix isn’t delicious.

Anna and Sarah Natural Very Berry Trail Mix

This is a made by a smaller brand, so I don’t know if it is all the accessible in stores, but it’s on Amazon. This mix is for true trail mix lovers, it pretty much has everything but the kitchen sink, and stays light on the added flavors so you really get to taste the ingredients. Think dates, cranberries, pumpkins seeds, pistachios, blueberries, and much more, all put together in the perfect ratio.

Second Nature Whole Medley

Enter my favorite mix for backpacking! Whole Medley is the choice for all the fellow chocolate and slat lovers. It doesn’t play you with those tiny chocolate chips or chalky cocoa nibs, it is full of chunks of milk chocolate, roasted almonds, salty cashews, and the perfect amount of cranberries and cherries.

Happy Belly Peanut Butter Plenty

This is for all you peanut butter lovers out there. I want to be clear, this is not what I would call the healthiest choice, but it is crazy good. It has roasted peanuts, peanut M&Ms, tiny chocolate peanut butter cups, and even peanut butter chips. It’s amazing. Side note; Happy Belly has a ton of other types of trail mix… and none of them disappoint.

Hi, I am Nancy Strahan. I recently graduated with my BA in English Literature and am working to gain experience in the writing/content creation business. I was born and raised in Alaska and I love it here. I am pretty much an outdoor and adrenaline junkie, so if it is crazy or in nature, I'm there. So, naturally all things camping, backpacking, and adventure related are my favorite topics to write about.
