Top 10 Radical Theme Park Attractions

There are a huge number of theme park attractions in the country. Out of these, most of the popular ones are either in California or Florida. Of course, not all these rides can be great, and so it can be hard to find the perfect theme park ride. What you’re looking for is a ride that’ll excite you more than any other. You don’t want to schedule a trip to a theme park and ride on an attraction that only goes 5 miles per hour. Those are usually geared towards children, but you won’t know that until after you waste your time on it. By doing some quick research into the most radical rides in the country, you can avoid these lame rides and head right to the extreme ones.

Rise of the Resistance

This is a new theme park ride at Disney World, and is one of the more impressive rides on this list. Before the ride begins, you will be ushered into a waiting room where Rey says some stuff (you aren’t really listening to what she says). After this, the doors will open and you’ll take off in a civilian transport ship heading off into space. The ship doesn’t get too far, though, before being boarded by the New Order. Forced to exit the ship, you’ll be guided through the Star Destroyer to a holding cell where Kylo Ren will talk to you for a second. After a while, the rebels free everyone and you escape on a tiny transport.

Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey

To be able to go on this theme park ride, you have to promise the attendant that you won’t talk about it after you get off. It’s forbidden, after all! Before you get on the ride, you’ll be able to walk through the halls of Hogwarts which, if you’re a big Harry Potter fan, is more interesting than the actual attraction. Like the movie, the paintings on the wall really move and, far above, you can glimpse the moving staircases. Finally, you arrive at the ride. Climbing aboard the suspended carriage, you set off on a flying adventure around the outside of the castle.

Avatar Flight of Passage

Remember that movie which everybody loved ten or so years ago? Well, it finally has its own theme park ride. On this attraction, you are able to experience the feeling of riding of the giant bird-dragon things that are in the movie. Speed through the beautiful and vibrant world as you swoop under fallen trees and glide above the ocean. If you pay close attention, you can see a little village below. The coolest part of this ride by far is the ocean segment, where you almost run into a giant sea creature and narrowly avoid crashing into the water.

Twilight Zone Tower of Terror

A very famous theme park ride, the Tower of Terror starts off slow, but becomes exhilarating by the end. Part of the experience is waiting in the line, which takes park guests through the bowels of the hotel. You can even interact slightly with the furnace (it makes a hissing sound). So, after reaching the end of the line, you get on the ride and listen to the voice of the Twilight Zone guy as he tries to creep you out. After he’s done talking, you’re dropped a few stories repeatedly in the elevator. This is what you’ve been waiting for, although it doesn’t last very long.

Adventure with Indiana Jones

This theme park ride begins in the ruins of an Aztec type temple modeled after the one in the first movie. It seems from the scaffolds displayed everywhere that it takes place after the original scene. You make a quick assumption that there’s archaeological work being done because that was a big part of the trilogy of movies. Once on the ride, you are quickly thrown in the action. The temple is falling apart around you, and the damage seems to be done in part by the evil goddess? figure shown on the wall. You think it’s probably a goddess, although it’s hard to tell because half of their face is demonic.

Expedition Everest

Everyone’s heard of the Yeti, right? Lives on Mt. Everest and supposedly hates people? How would you like to go up the mountain and say hi? You’d better say yes, because this theme park ride will take you straight to it! A quick and gradual uphill climb to the roller coaster is filled with yeti memorabilia including footprints and pictures. All this is just a prelude, though, to the thrilling ride. It starts off as your run of the mill ride but, halfway through, you find the tracks torn up! You now begin to go very quickly backwards while the yeti chases you. Right before the end, you can catch a glimpse of it above the ride, yelling at you.

Revenge of the Mummy

The pre-ride (the line) should remind you of the Night in the Museum movie, since it takes place in a museum. Some theme park rides have objects you can interact with in the line, and this ride has a few of those, one in particular being a mystical pyramid that will fascinate your child. Not you though, since you’re too old to be sucked in so easily…right? Once on the ride, things very quickly go wrong. The mummy is resurrected right off the bat and proceeds to send his magical spirit after you, which admittedly isn’t very threatening.

Hagrid’s Magical Motorbike Adventure

A theme park ride should grab you from the very beginning of your experience, which includes the stuff before the ride. Unfortunately, the video they show is a little lame, and the actors don’t seem to really care about what they’re doing. It’s almost laughable, really. No matter, you’re here for the ride, not the video, and what a ride it is! Depending on what position you have in line, you’ll have the option of sitting on the motorcycle, or the tiny side car (make sure you get the bike). The ride goes very fast and takes you on some sharp turns around the beautiful Hogwarts courtyard. The ride goes backwards too, but it sadly doesn’t last very long.

DINOSAUR

This theme park ride takes place in another museum, although this time it’s dedicated to dinosaurs. As you head ever closer to the attraction, you can look at the huge dino skeleton in the circular museum room. If you get tired of looking at the dinosaur, take a look at the walls, which have representations of what the meteor that killed the dinos looked like. The ride itself will take you back in time to rescue a herbivorous dinosaur before the meteor (and the T-Rex) destroys it. Near the end of the ride, the T-Rex targets the vehicle you’re in and begins to hunt you. Right before heading back to the present day, it almost gets you!

Rockin’ Roller Coaster

Is anyone an Aerosmith fan? You’ll love this theme park ride if you are! This attraction is known as the fastest ride at Disney World, as it goes from 0 to 60 mph in just five seconds! There’s even a backstory as to why the ride is so fast: you’re late for the Aerosmith concert and, in order not to miss it, you have to go as fast as you can through the city while listening to the live concert on the radio. This is also the only ride at Disney World that has a couple loop-the-loops, so this is an experience you’re not going to want to miss.
