Rachel Green is a total ’90s it-girl. So much so that we continue to channel her fashion today: overalls, graphic tees, short skirts, and plaid. Her looks were enviable, and as much fun as it is to watch Friends for the quirky writing, the goofy plots, and the unbreakable friendships, I don’t think I’m alone in admitting I watch the show over and over again for Rachel Green’s outfits.
So in honor of Rachel Green, here are (some of) her top 10 best outfits:
Rachel Green is the queen of overalls. She adds a delicate touch by wearing them with a lacy cami and her silver watch, and her hair is still cut in the quintessential Rachel style from the earlier episodes. This outfit is all about demonstrating Rachel’s ultra-feminine style.
Even since I first binge-watched Friends, I have been in love with this yellow dress that Rachel wears on a first date. The embroidery is to die for, and the color looks great on Miss Green. Her makeup and hair are both casual, allowing the dress to truly shine.
Rachel is a professional at curating outfits based around a mini skirt, tights, and boots. This outfit works so well for Rachel because it shows off her best asset–her legs. (Also, I’d just like to point out that Monica looks totally adorable, too.)
This outfit is iconic. In the episode in which someone steals Monica’s credit card, the girls find themselves in the middle of a tap-dancing class. Rachel’s wearing plaid pants, a graphic tee, a sweater around her waist, and sneakers. Adorable!
Another absolutely iconic outfit worn by Rachel Green. In the episode where Rachel loses Marcel the monkey, she dons one of her cutest and most Rachel-esque outfits: the plaid skirt, turtleneck sweater, and knee-high socks.
After learning that Joey has won an award for his role as Dr. Drake Ramoray, Rachel stands in as his date to the Soapie Awards. She wears an amazing red formal dress with an open back and a chunky gold choker. It’s true that Rachel Green looks amazing in every color.
I don’t know what I love about this outfit, but I absolutely love this outfit. The mini skirt and tights are an obvious look for Rachel, but the turtleneck adds a whole other level to this look. Like seriously, where can I buy this sweater?
These plaid pants are a dream come true. And despite not being able to identify the episode or season in which Rachel wears this outfit, I had to include it. She pairs it perfectly with a graphic tee. This is an outfit girls today would definitely want to be caught wearing. And rightfully so.
Again with the tights! Except for this time, Rachel has paired her tights with a dress. This is all in an attempt to get her customer, Joshua, to fall in love with her. And obviously, it works because she looks so damn gorgeous in this outfit.
This outfit is so early 2000s–the square-toed, knee-high boots, and the leather trench. Rachel looks chic and professional. And also, this outfit is made a little better by the look of complete frustration with Ross on her face.
