This quick and beautiful 5 minute makeup routine everyone needs will help you look gorgeous, feel hydrated and awake helping you to be ready for your day! This is for those of you who are like me and value your sleep and beauty causing you to always be rushing to work or school. This 5 minute makeup routine will have you looking flawless for the entire day, so set your alarm a little later and get that beauty sleep before you add these simple few steps into your morning routine.
Anything from BB cream to just your average light coverage foundation, it should be something natural and light. The goal here is just to even out your skin tone, so you only need something light. Nothing that is going to cover up your entire face. You also want to make sure it is hydrating your skin to give you a natural glow. You can use the foundation you normally use, but you’re going to be applying it a little different. Only use about a half a pump of your foundation and for the other half add a bit of moisturizer . That will make your foundation lighter coverage and it will leave you with a great base for your makeup routine.
Covering up any imperfections is something that is to be done whether you are doing a full glam look or just a 5 minute face. It only takes a moment. All you need to do it apply some concealer of your choosing under your eyes, on your chin, down your nose and then over any imperfections you wanted covered up. This is a quick step that is essential to making sure your face looks even and smooth. Especially because you won’t be adding a lot of extra steps to cover up things up like you normally do.
Next in your makeup routine you are to apply your bronzer. Take your brush and dip it into your bronzer. Once you have gotten rid of some of the excess powder you apply it to the side of your face almost in a 3 shape. A bit on the outside of your forehead, under your cheek bones and down your jawline. I like to add a bit on my ears so they blend in with my face as well as my neck. I feel that whatever my foundation didn’t catch when applied to my neck and ears can always be fixed with a bit of bronzer. Keep in mind: bronzer is not contour. You are adding this part in your makeup routine to give you a bit of glow and dimension to your face.
A pop of color is what is going to make you look alive and ready for your day. That is where blush comes in. Tap off the excess powder and apply your blush to the apples of your cheeks. You can find the apples of your cheeks by smiling. You want to drag the blush in an upward direction to lift your face rather than keeping it in a circle or dragging it down. You can also apply blush to the other high points of your face like your nose and your forehead. You want it to look like you were out soaking up some sun gaining color in your face rather than looking flat and colorless.
Adding a thin coat of mascara to your look is going to pull your makeup routine together. First curl your eyelashes and apply a thin coat to your lashes to help them look more voluminous and long, opening up your tired eyes. You can purchase brown mascara to give you a more natural look or go even more natural and get something clear. All you want is something that will make your lashes a little more obvious so your eyes do not disappear behind the beauty of your skin. No matter what type of mascara you choose, it is a beautiful and necessary part of your makeup routine.
This last step is detrimental as it determines whether or not your look is going to last all day. This step only takes a few seconds, but is necessary to slip into the end of your makeup routine. It is good to use a setting spray that is going to hydrate your face and make you look more dewy. That is going to set you up for a good day as it will make you look woken up even if you feel like you’re still sleep walking. Each of these steps should not take more than a minute, so slipping this sixth step in should be a breeze.
