Shoes are basically my favorite things ever. Of course they’re necessary, but they also have the power to transform an outfit.
For example, this is one of my favorite dresses to wear for many occasions. This is a prime, yet simple example of how shoes will make or break the look of the dress.
When I wear this dress to something a little more classy, like a Graduation party or dinner, I usually pair it with a cute (and occasionally sparkly!) sandal or flip-flop.
However, when I wear this dress to meet my friends for coffee or to go to class, I usually throw on a pair of heels. This is a rare case in which wearing heels will actually make the outfit look a little more casual, yet still polished.
This is another one of my favorite outfits.
Different types of shoes will completely change this look as well. For example, for something casual yet classy, I wear my heeled boots. It pulls the outfit together without being too dressy.
On the other hand, if I’m in the mood to celebrate my urban side, I’ll lace up my Converse. Black looks great, but white tends to stand out a bit more.
If I’m really lazy and just going to the Dining Hall, I can slide on some moccasins. They still look adorable, but they’re casual and super comfy.
Shoes can completely change how your outfit is perceived. The most important thing is that you’re comfortable physically, but also true to your own sense of style. Always remember that confidence is your most important accessory!
